NATIONAL HEAVY VEHICLE REGULATOR

If you're looking for a place that is a typical Government organisation that loves to stick their "cultural values" to the wall while cutting the legs off everyone working there to the point that their professionalism and will to work/care suffers dramatically, this is your place.

I've never seen this number of managers that are entirely under-skilled and ill-equipped to run a regulatory organisation than I've seen at this place. Sure, the NHVR is quite young, but the basics to build off just aren't there and instead of trusting the knowledge and experience of the many smart and capable employees that work there, everyone bows to the bullying culture that starts at the top.

Bureaucrats at their worst. Avoid.

Day to day work include administrative tasks, organise CEO's diary and for ordinate meetings with the Ministers, assist the marketing and communications team with stakeholder management activities.

Gained multi tasking skills, efficient organisational skills and ability to prioritise effectively, working collaboratively to reach team's goals.

All I can say is RUN!! Do not apply or take a job here, you have been warned. Managers and leadership are incompetent. Cultural surveys conducted here have resulted in awful scores that would make Pol Pot blush!! They pay very well but cannot retain staff….. You work that out!!!

I have worked at NHVR for 4years, and enjoyed my work the whole time. I have plenty of variety, and have appreciated the chance to learn new skills and technology. I have always felt valued and appreciated, and felt that I am providing a valuable service to the organisation.
My manager has always been very supportive and allowed me a great deal of autonomy.

Highly micromanagement.
Did not get opportunity to explain my situation 
Was yelled by my trainer.
The trainer dint show any positivity
The trainer was looking for mistakes in my work.
Never supported to be open about what I feel.
Co workers were using ill words 
Very disappointed with the management.

Overpaid public servants that don/t/can't achieve anything productive. The culture is the worse I have experiences in over 20 years in the workforce. Management and leadership are non existent. AVOID

Provided EA support to two directors in a growing company. The most enjoyable part of my job was working for the two Directors and learning two different aspects of the company.

Very fun place to work
Lot of knowledgeable co-workers
Management very supportive
Hard to deal with outside partners at times
Morning teas and unfortunately farewells to temps

The ping pong table is centrally located in the sizeable kitchen/dining area.  The information on display talks to company values that are all words and not actioned.

Strongest and smartest choice. There's never been a more exciting time to be working at a new national regulator created through hard fought intergovernmental reform.
