Company collapsed early 2018, and with good reason.

Many business decisions were left until the last minute, leaving staff scrambling to achieve goals, only to find that the support group had backflipped on decisions.
CEO hired family members unfit for senior roles within the company, leaving knowledge gaps.
Store and team managers often left out of the loop in regards to sales, leaving them understaffed and underprepared.
History of bullying from area managers and regional managers, left unchecked by support office and HR.
Long term employees (rare as hens teeth) realised that the company was going bust approximately 5 years before it did.

Very disorganised company, maybe that's why the kotara shopfront closed down. 

Staff not well managed and Manager/CEO did not give clear communication to our store. It seemed that our staff were left to manage and oversee all tasks and the CEO was focused more on sydney stores with higher traffic. Our primary store manager was always *sick* and did not have much authority over the staff.

I learnt a lot working at Mountain Design. It was my first job so it was hard at first but I am a quick learner so it was fine. 

My co-workers were very nice to me. They helped me whenever I needed help and we had a lot of laughs.

The only hard part about my job was difficult customers.

The most enjoyable thing was helping a customer out and a few days/weeks later they come back because they want to thank you and see if you have more things they need.

Overall a fun and exciting company to work. Although only kept on casual i still had permanent shifts. Was very easy to get time off work as well. Although sometimes it was very hard to get a hold of customer service for inquiries.

Mountain Designs originally was a great place to work with an awesome work environment. However, over time with the change of management the stores became understaffed, unprepared and limited support from head office was given. A good casual job but can be high stress.

Great organisational culture, great management and fun customers to help on a daily basis. 

Was able to reach out for help when I needed it, and no question was too dumb to ask. Really easy going atmosphere where everyone just pitches in and does their bit without having to be micromanaged.

Loved this company. Best culture of any company I've worked for. Good product, helpful and easy to get in touch with head office for help and had surprisingly good systems. The discount on gear was very generous.

Mountain Designs is a growing company fraught with learning opportunities. Such a fun creative working environment and great potential for career development.

Head Office including the CEO don't communicate well with the stores and campaign setups are always last minute and frantic. Nobody knows what's happening half the time.

It was good fun position with a group of great colleagues. 
Everyday challenges forced you to think on your feet as you strive to meet customer needs for various adventures
