Was a good place to work before management was too busy concentrating on his newspaper articles he was writing than his staff. Management had a tendency to allow staff to do what they pleased, instead of do what they should have. Poor management led to poor staff choices made for new positions advertised. Workplace culture was do what you liked when you liked. No one liked to help learn anything new, they used their knowledge as a bargaining chip for better pay rise for themselves, to make themselves look very important instead of working together with other staff. System was very old & head office wouldn't update it, making work take longer than it should have with an antiquated system. Management spent too much time out of the office than in the office doing their job, most of these staff have now left, so hopefully culture & practices have improved.

During the day your role could change depending on the demand of work.
Loading and unloading the trucks was my main focus durning my shifts.
I would need to assit at times with transporting stock via fork lift and at times i would assit the driver if a truck needed to be moved to a different location at the work site.

The hardest part would be the physical toll but being young and fit this was not a bad thing. My fitness level improved daily.

I meet a few good people I called friend, a joke in the lunch room and friendly banter throughout the shift made the work load lighter.

The best part I could say job satisfaction. You felt you had a acheived something when all orders were loaded and dispatched on time.

Working with Metroll has provided me with many different work scenarios, furthering my ability to work well within a team. I have worked with Metroll since I started in the Fabricating Industry in 2006 and have worked in various positions within the company. I've had the privilege to work in many different aspects of fabrication, from curving sheet metal for tanks, riveting and sealing the tanks. Operating the Corro and Trimclad machine to supply the products for roofing, cladding, sheds and fencing. Roof Batten and ceiling batten machine. Operating a 5 tonne monocrane. Stacking products using a forklift. Customer Service. 
I am always looking out for my fellow employees. Safety is of the upmost importance and is always my first priority regardless of the task I am given.

best part of the job is working with the awesome customers + the challenge to get the rig and trailer into the tight sites

Back stabbing and/or false accusations.
Sometimes unreasonable work load. 
Some bigotry.


What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
At first I thought was a good work/environment work atmosphere.
First impressions can be deceiving although some good people there.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Busy and plenty of work, sometimes doing other people’s work

I have met a lot of people here some I still keep in contact some I wish to never see again, the interview was basically non existent I was shown the factory from a window out into it than sat down to sign paperwork and started that day. There are some wonderful employees but management have favourite who can do no wrong and treat the others like garbage. 
Management can be very unprofessional and talk s**t about employees to employees. Employees have been caught consuming alcohol at the premises and were politely asked not to and to just do it outside of the premises whilst other employees are abused for taking days off whilst genuinely sick

Lower wages and questionable management decisions

Sometimes toxic.Small click groups which is fine as there is a choice of people to socialise with.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Sometimes hectic then frustratingly boring as sales are up and down as price increases happen regularly.

Management mainly have no idea In what's going on always promising never deliver , turn a blind eye to log books , always overloading trucks with weight and length loads with to much overhang . If you are sick and they promise you your job is safe you have no problem your job is secure until you get well DON'T believe a word your told as they stab you in the back over the phone

everyday start machine up check for leaks,
once all is done with quality checks then start the day on a production line.
what i have achieved is leadership and how to speak to management  in a productive mannor to suit the situation for the day.
I have a lot of respect from my collegues, work friends and our major roofing companies i get along with everyone to extent. work mates get you through a day,  you can rely on them at any moment and knoiw the job is getting done
