The work environment and culture at Meriton Suites can vary depending on the location and management team. However, a positive work culture with supportive colleagues and managers. The company places a strong emphasis on providing excellent customer service, which can create a fast-paced and high-pressure work environment. Additionally, employees appreciate the opportunities for growth and development within the company.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Overseeing the overnight operations, managing the night staff, ensuring guest satisfaction, handling any guest complaints or issues that may arise, performing administrative tasks such as bookkeeping and reports, and ensuring the safety and security of the hotel and its guests.

Shift work can often be hard to manage, weeks straight of afternoon shifts followed by mornings ruin your sleep schedule and social life. 

Communication from head office on major changes like credit card surcharges, changes to employee benefits is next to nill. Often times they will make a major change AND THEN tell you a week later. leaving you to figure it out for yourself.  The staff benefits are abysmal, 30% discount on stays, but it can't be at your property, no meals, and a laundry allowance that doesn't even cover one jacket to be cleaned. 

It's a good entry level job if you're new and looking for work and decent pay but don't get comfortable, because upper management will ship you off to another hotel you did't want/ask to go to with less than a weeks notice. leaving you out of pocket for travel expenses that you weren't expecting to pay, and time you weren't expecting to lose.

If you manage to find a good team, they are the only thing that keep people coming in to work, because they all understand. 

If you enjoy being belittled and yelled at by demanding guests, saying "yes mr.triguboff" to everything, and having your entire work life and schedule changed every 3-6 months with no say, then Meriton is for you!

You get the pay on time. They try to maintain a safe, bullying free environment.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The pay is quite low compared to the amount of work you have to do. Also the managers add tasks (on top of the ones you already do) that should be done by some other payed employee. They try to save money that way.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Not bad if you keep really quiet but people from the same country are heavy in numbers and favoritism is rampant. Don't expect to get holiday shifts or promotions if you're not Nepali.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Work, work and more work. You have to be on your feet until you get out.

You start to work in the morning where we have a briefing about good reviews and complaints, what we need to pay more attention to and so on. We got then the worksheet that said what rooms we have to clean and what kind of service is asked for. It happened often that the floors did not provide all essential equipment to clean the room properly and in time because you had to go from floor to floor and look for the equipment you needed. Such as linen and bathroom utensils. The payment is minimum wage and depends on how fast you are. The time you get to clean the rooms is not enough at all. The good thing was that you can call the supervisor if the rooms was left too messy and they would help you.

I am doing 7-8 hours but get 4-4.5 hours as they pay per room and per room they give less minutes and maximum rooms are messy everytime. And maximum management people are from nepali and they don’t prefer others country people. They give extra benefit to nepalis people. Pay rate is very low as compare to work. They should change their payment system. Maximum employee feel very disappointment when they are doin 7-8 hours and get 4-5 hours pay. It’s kind of injustice. I draw attention of Higher management of Meriton Suites.

Yes It can be fun most of the time also very hands on always something to do around the Hotel Property, Management are more for them selfs not really approaching as long as you get the job done Management must prove employee support on work ethics for positive feedbacks, Guest complaints is the main problem any day of the week able to provide quality service to all guest and regular clients can be the toughest thing at work, they can be good days, they can horrible days the best part about the job is a positive vibe for employees and guests to make your day better every time.

The pay is not good for the amount of work and the support that the management team provide. You often end up getting pay for 3-4 hours at minimum wages after working 6-7 hours, because it were count based on how long THEY THINK you should finishing one room, not your actual time taken.
Management team simply did not care   how bad the condition for the cleaning equipment and supply, with the "if you don't want to be here we don't care, there 100s more outside taking your place" kind of attitude.

Flexibility is more important in jobs and Meriton provide that one

Sometime rooms become so messy

Work friendly environment and u can meet with different variety of people

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Friday is quite busy. Along with weekends

Typical day starts at 8:30am , basically house keeping duties and room service. Learnt time management skills and attention to details. Management is helpful , workplace culture  wouldn't be too sure. Hardest part would be cleaning more check-out rooms in a short timeframe. The satisfaction of getting the job done.

The superisors were so supportive

Going to get the vacuum from the pantry after cleaning each room
