The Council is strong to cultural diversities, green advocacy, environment reservation. 
There is usual bureaucracy exist in the administration as many other public sectors. The management quality is spectrum depending to the competency of the executives managers
That is challenging to the Local Laws Officer sometimes when he/she encountered with the harsh residents who are often non compliant to the laws

I really enjoyed working at the Maribyrnong City Council. Although the work sometimes was a bit boring, there were a lot of interesting things to be apart of which made it enjoyable. The people I worked with were also helpful and enjoyable

When push comes to shove, doesn't matter how long you've worked here. They will not have your back. Higher ups ie: managers and directors will follow protocol to the T to show their superiority. If you're lucky, your immediate team will be ace. Other than that, they wont care for you.

Some great work colleges,  unfortunately Management are too frightened to deal with the Union bullies.
Union targets people and gets them sacked. Management are either complicit in the bullying or too frightened to stand up and do what's 
right. 

A typical day at work will be dealing with community at large. It was an outdoor job. I walked through every street in the council's area to record Street sign data and forward any other damages to the designated department.

long time can not remember. good things are you will get to be trained at the tafe courses while working there. eg academic course. first aid. all licences for tracter operator, chain saw operator, ect...

great atmosphere with work life balance, alot of freindly staff and fellow co workers are easy and great to work with. good income with plenty of upskilling and on the job training.

Not a good place to work. Management and supervisors very inexperience. Workers are all in slow motion, both mentally and physically. Very corrupt place.

Everything from basic troubleshooting to network and infrastructure management. Requires a flexible mind and someone willing to work hard.

would like to have stayed but since I was employed via an agency and the budget at the time could not sustain casuals had to leave.
