What I Learned Today:
Today, I improved my communication skills, especially when resolving a client issue. I also learned how to navigate a new feature in our internal system, which should make future tasks more efficient. Additionally, I gained better insight into prioritizing work under time pressure.

My time at Mad Paws was one of the best working experiences I've ever had. Every employee is committed to the vision of providing Australian's with quality pet care and it shows with the long list of happy pet sitters.

Every member of the team is extremely friendly and the workplace culture  is not only supportive, but downright fun. Continual learning and education is a big part of the business and you always feel valued bringing ideas to the table. 

I would highly recommend Mad Paws to anyone either looking for a job in startups or looking to help grow one of Australia's most exciting companies!

You choose what you want to do, when and how much you get for your service. It is flexible as you wait for a booking request you meet the client and you choose whether the job Is for you or not. if you accept the booking you complete the booking and when it is over the customer rates you. Your payment is deposited on the website and you can choose to request for the payment into your bank account or use it as credits and make a booking yourself through the website.

I started pet minding on Mad Paws when I was studying and really enjoyed it as I could not commit to owning my own cat. I take roughly 5 bookings per month and I can easily decide when I would like to work by updating my calendar which is very hand now I have finished studying and working full time. The website is very good and easy to use. I really enjoy minding cats and occasionally rabbits or dogs. I recommend to anyone who is looking to make extra money. Must love pets!

madpaws was an overall great experience, I got to learn so much about customer service and how to run my own little business. The website can be irritating sometimes when it comes to settings and the need to explain to the customers would impact the overall experience. Of course, the most enjoyable part of the job was taking care of unique and cheeky pets, would leave the house messy though!

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Takes a while to get paid, I also had my profile removed for accepting a cash job. But I should have read the contract again before I said yes.. so might be more on me

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
You are working by yourself, you are paid through them after the company takes its cut... Which is a fair amount

Mad paws is a great first job, because it’s relaxed, takes lots of responsibility/independence but also makes sure that you take control of your destiny. If you’re lazy, you won’t make money and you’ll receive bad reviews. But if you look after the dogs as the owner insists, you become much more responsible and hireable

Choose your own days! Choose your rates! Choose your pet type you want to look after and if you are willing to go to the owners places or they can be brought to you. Whats not to love! You get to see an adorable and amazing range of animals and if you do ever get stuck they have an amazing team at thier Head office in Sydney and advice and help is only a phone call or email away! 

I get to choose the clients and pets that I think will be a match for my environment, pets, and family.
The job of being a host to owners' pets is very rewarding. A positive happy environment in the safety of my own home. I love animals and have had lots of successful hosts so far. Lots of happy clients. It gives me a sense of purpose. The job allows a lot of flexibility.
Flexible time management means I can be there at times that best suit everyone involved. 


Mad Paws has been fabulous and just what I was looking for. I wanted something flexible where I could choose my own working days and hours to fit around my family. I'm obsessed with animals and have done some pet minding in the past so working for Mad Paws made perfect sense.  I get to set my own prices and choose where and when I work, which I could never do before. They have a great team who are always helpful too if I have any problems. Would thoroughly recommend!
