I was an Asset Protection Director for many years and found the pay and benefits above par. I had two supervisors during that time and both were great. This is a very hard job on work-life balance and from what I hear continues to get harder everyday. I really enjoyed the people I worked for, with, and worked for me. But everyday you are buried with so much work and emails that if you manage to take a vacation you always work through it. Otherwise you are so far behind you never catch up, even with good co-workers covering for you during your time off.

This was one of my favorite jobs. It's was always exciting and the integrity of the store matched the super friendly management team. But the pay was lousy. Although working here gave me a reason to get up and challenge myself. As a former member of the support/ mark down team it was always a great day. And I wouldn't hesitate to go back and use this as a second job if my current job weren't competition.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Constantly on you to open charge cards or any other programs they were involved in.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Horrible. Worst place I’ve ever worked.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Sales, be harassed to open credit cards.

The job itself was fun but the stores were all short staffed and it was a challenge to get the job done while being distracted by a million customer issues. The customer culture at the store is not appropriate. Customers can be very rude and demand unreasonabl things. I had some incidents where a customer was so offensive towards me but nothing was said to her.

Going into work always something to do. fast paced and time goes quickly. I enjoy talking to people and helping make their experiences fun. I also learning about new cosmetic products. I enjoy that there is no down time. You can stock and clean. Also learning other departments. .

Great place to learn in the moment. Co-workers are supportive and knowledgeable. Work life balance can sometimes be difficult but that is the nature of the business. You can gain some valuable experience and insights into the retail world.

It was very interesting to work at macys i hot a lot of staff that i meet different kind of nice and friendly people that works there also. And a very safe and clean area to work.

Macy's is a great company to grow with long term. Alderwood is a Union store which is nice. Hours are flexible and always is hiring.
