MITRE 10

My time working for Mitre 10 has not only been very rewarding but have also made some valuable friends.  when dealing  with customers daily, I always made the customers feel welcome which enabled me to learn what matters to the community most.  There were a large mixture of elderly customers as well as young families, and tradies, all having their own needs, but whenever they came into our store, I am sure they all felt respected, important and no question was either too great or small.  We always prided ourselves in having what was needed, and if we didn't have the product, we made sure we went to great lengths to locate it.

There was real warmth and character to our store, and that we genuinely cared about our customers, other than the financial gains made.

The hardest part of my job was sometimes dealing with co-workers who did not have the same work ethic as I.  To me, we are all valued employees, who each have talents that should be nurtured and work as part of a team for the smooth running of the overall business.  

My most enjoyable part of my day was helping the elderly, listening to their stories, and for them to know that they are not forgotten, that they truly have something to offer.  I have learned a great deal from my customers.

My daily routine starts off with the receipting of any inward goods and loading into the computer system. Then proceed to list all returned and faulty products. Make all neccessary claims from suppliers. On completion, I would go on the floor to help out serving customers and operate the cash registers. The management was helpful in all aspects of the job. All the team members worked together to achief our common goals. The hardest part of the job was the uncertainty of the arrival of the promotional stocks, which can comprised of over 20 pallets. This would make it difficult in receipting of other stocks when they arrived at the same time. The most enjoyable part of the job is the satisfaction of seeing the difficult tasks completed on time and to the management satisfaction. In addition, that the customers I served, were happy with the service I have provided.

I've been working at Mitre 10 for almost 4 years now. since started working there, i've learned a lot of the timber products and gained much experience in serving, demonstrating to the customers and in cash handling as well. most of the working days will be very busy and intense. have to have great attention to detail to keep everything going smooth as it's a very fast paced environment. co-workers are mostly older people who are not very flexible. the management always looks after its employers very well and is very flexible. however, it doesn't recognise the hard work we put in and can be very bias at times. as a small - medium business, haven't got much place for career advancement.  overall a good experience.

I enjoyed working with such a great and organised Team. Iam a hard worker so I was mainly was required  to stack shelves and do alot of lifiting being Iam very tall and strong. I prefer to just get on with the Job as Iam not the best talker so my strengths were in all the manual lifiting, stacking, filling Gas for Gas Cylinders. I currently have my forklift Licience, as I enjoy the manual side of working.I enjoyed the satisfaction of a hard days work and going home knowing I was a valuble part of the Team gave me great Self Esteem.The hardest part of the job was not getting ongoing work as I was hired as casual, so when it quietened down after Christmas I was out of work. I learned to follow instruction and just laways get on with the Job.

I enjoy the busy and hard working environment and working long hours at Mitre 10 United. I strive under pressure to manage a productive team whilst ensuring a safe work place for all. During my time at Mitre 10 I have learnt to work cooperatively within a team and the importance of product knowledge and customer service. I am looking to further my career as I have reached the highest level I can at my current work place while looking to increase my salary. The hardest part about my job is the lack of salary and benefits. The most enjoyable part of my job is working within a team and achieving set tasks.

After moving over from Bunnings after 8-10 years with them I was getting no where 
But in my first year in mitre 10, I went from normal team member to a leadership role within 6 months, this company values hard work and rewards it ten fold, I love working for mitre 10
Even the area managers to even the general manager, they treat you with the utmost respect, and you can form some really great lifelong friendships!!! Don’t pass mitre 10 up 
Bunnings is no where near mitre 10!!! At Mitre 10 they treat you like a human, and they truly value every team member 
  Bunnings on the other hand everyone is a robot and your just a number.

People onsite are amazing and care about the people and the clients, onsite management are the best people i have ever had the plesure of working for BUT upper management can't be trusted full stop. From the collaborated efforts hide missing stock, the persuasion of workers not to go to the doctor under Workcover due to kpi's  is criminal, go work a company that's isn't run by cowboys that think they are still in the 70's.

Dealing with customers, ordering stock, putting away stock, ticketing stock, cleaning the shop.  I learnt how to work fast and efficiently with the resources I had.  It was a fun workplace.  I got on very well with my co-worker and the customers.  The hardest part of the job was meeting the deadlines of various promotions, but by meeting those deadlines with all the other things going on in the store was very rewarding.

I learnt how to open and close the shop including opening and closing tills, counting daily totals and setting the float. I would process cash and card purchases, process account sales and process special customer orders. Customer interaction was extremely pleasing as regular customers become more like family. All workers became a close knit family ready to solve any customers problems.

This is Mitre10 NZ. A privately owned store under the umbrella of NZ wide Mitre10. The owners are fantastic and gave me all the opertunities to work in various departments within the store. Starting from managing the paint section to designing modular kitchens. When the new Mega store opened I moved to Inventory ( importing all the stock for the store) and inwards goods. In the last 3 years , was part of the kitchen  plumbing and bathroom team.
