I loved working for MACCA. Management was open minded, fun and professional . they encouraged personal and professional growth. they also had support and incentives to encourage individuals to achieve . I would also go back to MACCA if they had work available at this moment however to get more local drive in drive out would be more suitable at present. A normal day was pre-start where we were briefed on our job task and location of open pit to work in. Also the load rate to be achieved .The team chosen to work with were fun and they were very professional as their radio correspondence was mainly used predominately for safety on our runs regards cows, slippery roads and other hazards to be aware of. I learnt alot about sharing information, encouraging each other, team work essential and SAFETY a HUGE PART of every day. the culture was SAFETY FIRST.

Maca mining was a good place to work it was very hot in summer 54 degrees and winter very cold .It was a funny place to work as the project manager would change all the time and my supervisor didn't know very much about drill and blast. The people on the blast crew worked well but they wouldn't spend the money on the people that worked for them. They would Ruther bring in a shotfirer cant even tie in then spend the money on the young guys that they had working for them. The most enjoyable thing about the job was new years eve we had to fire a 2700 hole shot to fix a problem from old drill and blast supervisor and the team building in the crew was the best it fired perfect and we all went celebrated.

The toxic environment  from supervisors and up to management

Very very toxic .would not recommend anyone to join this employer

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Always busy and unorganised . Supervision and up are always looking for someone to blame  for anything and everything . I have never been disrespected and talked to soo badly by leadership .

What is the best part of working at the company?
Not much, they just don’t pay the same amounts as most other mining companies.

They want the tonnes but don’t give bonuses to there workers only the bosses

Not bad, mostly friendly people to work with

12 hrs of pushing to get the tonnes

MACA used to value and look after their employees, but new management came in and that changed. I was underpaid, undervalued and treated like just a number. There is no WFH flexibility, management would get angry if you left to go home on time. There is a purple circle- people with no experience get constant promotions because they are friends of the boss

Some supervisors and getting changed of one machine to another

Can be stressful and miss leading

Terrible management and professionalism. The leaders seem like a throwback to working at Port Hedland in the 70s. They are liars, cowards and bullies.   Don't reward loyalty and commitment. Definitely not recommended at, need a cleanout of incompetent managers.

MACA use to be a great company to work for. New management change has now made the work environment toxic. More focused on corporate image for take overs and selling out to a bigger company than following their charter to look after their people. Departments dont work together anymore at head office level result in poor support across sites fostering a blame game and white washing of accountability.

Nothing the bosses are discriminate

The prodigious bosses put you down

Very bad the bosses make you feel down

Sometimes it's ok mostly it's hard

the company core values is what I believe in management is there for the employee, safety is of the highest impotence and always being reviewed. Sadly the mining industry is in a down turn. 3 contracts finished at once.
