Lollipops Playland & Cafe

Working at Lollipops you need to be proficient in multitasking, as every weekend we will have back-to-back parties. On occasion I will be on playland supervision ensuring the safety of children and their parents who are using the equipment.

I have learnt that every shift working at Lollipops is different so you have to take every day as it comes and that all children have different ways of understanding the rules to keep a safe workplace environment. 

Every individual that works at Lollipops are kind and friendly, and also have wonderful customer service skills. I enjoy working there very much as I have a passion for children and I like entertaining and interacting with them to the best of my ability.

The best part working at Lollipops is seeing those smiles that come on the children's faces whether its either having fun in one of the parties that I would be hosting or just playing in the playground. 

However; the hardest part of my job is that we will have days where parents would be feeling quite overwhelmed and would take it out on the staff, when this situation comes I like to settle them down and ask them if they would like me to do anything for them to calm down and it mostly ends in a positive outcome.

the average day was running and supervising children in the play land or more likely supervising several parties throughout the day. i learned how to create structure and keep the children under control, as well as the responsibilities that i was given. 

the management was always there to help and were often at times quite strict. the teams i worked with were often around my age giving most of us the ease of connecting with one another as well as being energetic and helpful towards one another.

the hardest part of the jobs was communicating with tough customers who hired parties for their children as well as some of the harder to control kids however this can vastly be contrasted to the smiles, thanks, and overall satisfaction shown from everyone around you throughout the day

I started at open and finished at close on a typical day, I worked all parts of the job, from front counter to kitchen hand to Barrister. Because it was a new business at first things were a bit rocky but it continued to improve over time, I enjoyed most aspects of work but the negative energy my boss had about other employees.

working at lollipops play-land is fun and has a good working environment as well as being fun for the children, working there i have learnt to manage my time better as a typical work day consists of going between, the rock climbing walls, the rides and party hosting in half hour intervals. The most difficult part of the job is getting children to line up for a ride, the most enjoyable part of the job is how pleasant all the staff and management are to work with.

Management and employees are very nice and welcoming. Theirs always something to do and it is a very fun and productive environment to work in. I learnt and gained many new skills whilst working here including, Party hosting, Cashiering, Customer Service and being in charge of Tea cup rides and rock wall. They train you on all aspects and continuously check up to see if you need any guidance and etc.

Management does not communicate  also there are pros and cons. Staff get treated like slaves. Pays are fortnightly and sometimes late.  Loved our regular clients which made it a positive job but if your sick your expected to work and if you don't they crack it and fire you. Can't get full time hours but your expected to do full time hours as a casual.

Dropped.off really quick and was quiet until close

a typical day involved doing just everyday things like cleaning, serving customers, handling money, using the phone, ordering stock and doing whatever was required including stocking up, maintaing a clean and good work environment all while having a positive attitude and good work ethic.

Stressful environment and the pay doesn't match that stress/work-level. It's good if you're just starting your first job for experience but I wouldn't recommend staying for more than a year. Staff are constantly being scolded and expected to do more with less when the issue lies with management.

I personally do not want to express my review as I believe that everyone has a different experience working for this company. I have had good times as well as bad times working for this company.
