early to bed, early to rise. Preparing next day for clothes and food supplies, Drink plenty of water. Observe and listen to how safe work practices are applied. Care for workers , machinery and equipement. Respecting and understanding different cultures and religions. A challenge of doing something that you have to think outside the square at times, in order to move or rig things into place. Usually completing the assigned task in allocated timewith no stuff ups and ready for the next challenge is very enjoyable and rewarding.

extreamly poor managment, they always flew under the radar when it came to safety because they were a non-union site so accident & such were ner reported. they did not take care of their employees when struggling with fatigue levels, in our contract it stated 40 hours a week & anything else was "negotionable" but speaking your rights either gave you a verbal warning or "guilt trip" you into working 15 hour days. I DO NOT RECOMMEND. you will not only loose your life outside of work but it will mentaly & physically drain you. Unless you have nothing to loose, this job is ground zero.

A typical day at work consisted of myself and a co-worker contacting the supervisor for the day to sort out a tight deadline of what needed to be accomplished by when. This included allocating tasks to other co-workers and split the work fairly and adequately amongst other employees. Day-to-day knowledge of how to better manage other employees helped me understand the qualities of a good leader, someone who can fairly delegate tasks without bias.

Hardest part of the job was balancing up on the roof, is a very hard job esp during spring and summer time. Learned a lot of skills to do with construction. The most enjoyable part of work was the co workers. Due to the extreme height of some buildings it is advised that the worker isnt afraid of heights.

a typical day at work was consisting of unpacking and setting up levelling gear and checking for levelness on the block. after the job was complete I then packed up the levelling gear and cleaned down the truck.

Currently I work part-time (monday and friday) as a labourer. I enjoy the hours and the pay is reasonable, however I find the work to usually be repetitive and boring. This is unique to myself and others may feel differently about the occupation.

when I was working i learnt alot of new things relevant to the construction industry. I needed to start as a labourer so i can slowly develop and go up from there. at first, it was challenging as I was new to the construction industry, but slowly got use to the workflow.

everyday was different from digging trenches footing and holes for piers to laying steel mesh concreting and brickies  laboring in our company we would do everything that gets done on a construction site.

it was a good projest to be on it was for work for the dole renovating the yard and painting the building of 6 Langford drive often we would have early days due their wasn't heaps to do and we needed to make the work last 6 months

Worked as a cleaner.  Will be cleaning shopping centres and supermarket.  Also assisted with handyman work where required.  Usage of all cleaning machines and products.
