Overall John Lewis is a great place to work, I thoroughly enjoyed my time there. All of the staff are friendly and welcoming meaning training is relatively straight forward. The benefits are better than any other workplace I have experienced with 25% discount, ticket subsidies and days out. Although there can be repetitive long hours of serving and standing, the overall experience is made better by polite customers and other members of staff who are always there to help. I would definitely recommend working at John Lewis.

A typical day envolves client interaction on many different floors and departments. All John Lewis partners are knowledgeable and always willing to give the best customer care they can.
I learned about structure and organisation; the notion that hard work is an ABSOLUTE means to an end and achieving targets.
Hardest part is the early mornings of deliveries, heavy lifting and distributing stock to departments. It is always the most enjoyable, that is the time of day when everyone bands together (regardless of job title, department or status) and becomes one.

Worked at the partnership for over 12 years. While the idea of the partnership is good this is rarely put into practice. There’s a culture of sycophantic behaviour as this is the only way to get ahead. The goals and KPIs are changed constantly and you don’t know what you have to achieve to get a pay increase. A very dishonest and hypocritical  place to work. It’s a pity because the partnership model used to work

Great Company to work for, with huge benefits and a relaxed atmosphere. The team-building structure meant that every employee felt that they were valued, producing high work ethics throughout the stores.

Woulds not recommend working for this company. Will sharft you eventuality if you express your opinions and they don't agree with the management or if you are off on sick leave.

Very good place to work for and being you own boss as a contractor was a good thing as long as your work was done we were able to finish all different times of the day
