A typical day at work for myself is answering the phone calls and handling complaints either being internal or external, following procedures to handle these situations carefully and with no conflict of interest.
I attend weekly meetings to our department to make sure we are up to date with the current changes and standards for the hospital.
I am also there for the staff members if they have any concerns regarding any of their work duties.
I also complete all the rosters and ordering of all the products that we use on a daily basis.

What is the best part of working at the company?
I  didn't find working at John Hunter Hospital a good experience 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Lack of support, Bullying and WHS issues.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Workers' low self-esteem and the culture is negative, absentee high, and difficult to fill the job position because of a bad reputation.


What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Busy, working short staff unable all the time and expected to pick up the extra work without even a thank you for your extra effort. No respect only bullying.

Rewarding at ward level.Great team work.Dedicated staff focused on patient care.

Management expected to achieve unreachable goals.This pressure filters down through all levels, creating a stressful working situation and ultimately poor work satisfaction.Nursing Unit Managers are continually asked to perform perform perform to reach unrealistic goals.Patient care is compromised at times so that the hospital can be seen to achieve expected admission /discharge times.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Wide variety of specialties, big hospital. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Management treat you badly, and don't care about you. Very busy - overworked and understaffed.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Work environment is bare minimum, not much acess to things required I.e. dressings. Culture is awful - lots of bullying and management don't care.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Leaving. The clinical team are fantastic though.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Toxic management. The CE is a Napoleonistic tyrant

Absolutely awful. Toxic from the top down.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Very busy within the Periop dept. 50-55% of the surgical cases are unplanned (Trauma & emergency)

What is the best part of working at the company?
Flexible fostering for families. Exposure to a wide variety of clinical areas

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Management are terrible and don't care about nurses. Poor staffing levels. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Terrible. Horrible ratios, patients are too acute for some wards. Not a nice culture.

A very busy environment with constant Dictaphone typing and answering phones, assisting patients, filing. Learnt how the hospital system works, met a lot of wonderful co-workers. The hardest part of the job was not getting personally involved with the sick. The most enjoyable part of the job was witnessing medical miracles

Loved working here for a short time. many places to transfer and learn new things. Staff on wards were mostly great, management is not very staff-focused and most staff are pushed to meet deadlines. High expectations but in-house training is great.

Great Place!! shows you what it likes to work as a team and what each team member can bring to the table.
Learned how to do deal and speak with patients who are in pain and are going through a hard time with life, either personal or medical.

The advancements I made working at the JHH was invaluable. I learnt more working at the JHH, with every shift I worked. Although few and far I have personally experience bullying on the wards but now I know with anything like that u are fully supported, not alienated. Working at the JHH was a stressful but very rewarding.
