A Typical day in a SafeHouse for me.
As I spend an Active night from 11pm until 7am. 
in the Morning I awake Children usually they arise themselves quite early, i help them with Breakfast and preparation for the day ahead, whether it a School day or an planned activity planned as they have a regular routine planned Daily.

 I am an Aboriginal Elder in this Safe House as Children Resident of Safe House are Aboriginal i do take my role seriously and professionally as I follow the rules all other follow but i feel its imperative to have  a Senior on board it brings  a more Cultural effect to the Program which sometimes can be overlooked as not so important due to shortage of Aboriginal Foster Carers.

There is such a Diverse Group working there most from different backgrounds it has it Cohesive and not so Cohesive moments but they are overcome at the end of the day and not displayed where it affects, Children (Clientele) we can and do work in unity overall.

Knowing I make a difference with the young Children and respect that we show each other Children respect us if we respect them,
so I enjoy the fact that they do enjoy me and my presence on a daily basis as they can be challenging but a pleasure to watch them grow as time passes.

my days at work were always different i learnt more things each an every day with my client ...  i gathered different activities for her drew up charts an crossed out her likes an don'ts i learnt how to controll a childs temper as for i learnt how to controll a seizure an what to do as i worked with a child with epilpsy which is sad we gained a good bond i also learnt how to tell when she wasnt feeling well cooked her dinner wrote down her day to day activities an stuff we did together in a dairy so the management could see what we were doing an could upload that to there data 

my co workers were also fun to be around as we all worked together to keep this child in place an with us .. we did a few meetings to see what we could improve made shopping lists discovered together things we didnt know about our child we wer working with an ect,,

the hardest part of the job would have been having to put up with her temper tantrums .. an making sure i had my eyes on her at all times 

the most enjoyable part of the job .. was meeting the care an love all my co workers had for each child they looked after an to be in a environment were i knew they be safe in i also loved working along side with my child she made me feel good everyday loved seeing her grow

This business underpays and overworks it front line staff, with a serious disconnect between management and lower grade staff. Escalations/requests are largely ignored, and trying to get something done in a time fashion just ends up a hot mess. High staff turnover and a lack of resources, makes working for this employer a really hard task. Hard work at the coal face is NOT rewarded. There is no social club, no reimbursements, no training support and irregular, ad-hoc staff meetings (at best) for front line staff. Finally the staff turnover from what I seen, is horrendously high (at all levels of the business) other than being paid weekly, there is unfortunately little that I can say, that is positive about this employer.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Not dealing with management. Management at times could bully non favourite staff, the favourite staff git away with not fulfilling work requirements. If not part of favourite click work rosters could be cut dramatically.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
HR department not answering concerns if bullying

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Like everywhere else some staff were great others not so

Depends on who.you were working with

Each day is very different to another. Every challenge helps develop skill and learn something new everyday. Management are supportive and amazing staff to work with. I do have respect for ITEC. 
The hardest part of the job was leaving the job due to relocation to another state due to changes with partners work.
The most enjoyable part of the job was seeing people achieve their goals and being a part of that journey.

The interview and the onboarding was excellent, but the top management they are more concerned about the profit. They are working with people who are are supporting people with disability they need to support employees to get great outcomes with their clients.

Not the best job at all. Terrible management, make you feel horrible if you can’t do a shift, drop hours for no reason. It may get better in the future but  it’s there way or no way. No room for movement and your opinion or suggestions to make something better goes unheard. 

very simple structured working lifestyle i currently work 3 days on 3 days off roster however i have a young family and want a job that will allow me to go home to my family each day

A typical day working with children. School run, planning meals, housework and inspiring children to plan an outing on the week end. hardest part of the job is the emotional side.  the most enjoyable is the children being happy.

I so much love working with ITEC HEALTH   and will like to recommend my friends or family to work with them also. ITEC HEALTH allowed you to express your self and you have ur freedom.
