Iron Mountain

Upon working at Iron Mountain I was excited to start a new job with potential opportunities to progress, only to find I would be stuck in the same role completing the same tasks day after day. After consulting with someone who had previously worked there for several years, it seems that doesn't change either.

I was also told the site I was placed at was particularly busy only to find at certain points of the day there was barely any work to do because I was only allowed to perform one work task.

Following that I also didn't receive any pay for 3 weeks in a row with no sign of that improving anytime soon. All the major decisions are made by their management team based over east so trying to actually push for anything to be done about that was a massive hassle that led to me finding employment elsewhere.

Their warehouse racking system is also incredibly tedious and requires you to constantly pull out piles of boxes to get to a single thing you need, then place everything back where it came from. The management over east seemingly doesn't listen to that feedback either because I was told it's an ongoing issue.

In conclusion; the work was incredibly boring, the hassle around pay and starting fresh employment at this site wasn't worth it and I generally just felt depressed day to day going into work here. 

A typical day for me.
3 customer appointments per day,50 email/calls for my 80 Accounts within my portfolio which successfully increased revenue by 3%.
Responsibilities.
Revenue Tracking providing reports to Management on Outstanding Debtors,Customers at Risk,Portfolio updates on a weekly basis.Meetings weekly with many parts of the company.
NPS survey customergauge tracking at 89%-testimonials.
Account Plans,Share of Wallet and Agenda for all meetings.
Hardest part of my job is the amount of administration which is required now. My strengths include being very customer focused, face to face,solution /cross selling,opening up new opportunities-I thrive in this environment and love being the best I can for my customers-Job description completely changed  after the acquisition from being a Sales Executive to now being responsible for accounting,chasing up Accounts Payable,invoicing issues ,10 reports a week have to be provided,customer service no support staff to assist.
Not enough time in the day to complete MBO (my business objectives)
I've learned to be very disciplined,focused and incredibly determined to do the best I can in the current situation.

Typical day, is team huddle, where we all have a comment to make on our daily plan and the focus for the day "customer service with smile". It is also a learning curve for all my staff, to take on the ability and ownership of a customer, whether it be by call, angry customer, or customer requiring a query.  Our motto "sharing is care".

Respect, communication is our team spirit for each other and our work collegues, whether different cultures.  The hard part of this role, is letting go of a very good working staff member, whether within the Company to further their experience more and out in the work place, I  would like to say, 'no', but, this is decision they make and I fully support this.

Recall has been a good place to work at, I am there longest serving driver in Victoria in our division. Years a go they had so much work but about 5 years a go management predicted our area would slow down.
This is mainly because of technology, more information can be stored on a single tape. In the last few years companies are increasing the use of the cloud, which means no need for a pick up or delivery.
The tapes we deal with are highly sensitive information and our security protocols are very strict and must be followed every time, no excuses.
I have a set run in the CBD and I really enjoy the interaction with customers. 
There is something about being on time and providing a reliable service that keeps everyone happy.

Love working at Iron Mountain. 
Staff at Iron Mountain are wonderful, very welcoming and they celebrate each employees birthday at the end of each month with a birthday cake, no one is ever missed.
Iron Mountain is a safe environment to work in, i never once felt unsafe, even when we finished 10pm. 
Manager and Supervisors are very understanding and your hard work is never unnoticed. 

Lunch and Kitchen area is warm and homie, has everything you need to cook and relax while on your breaks. Television is also provided and lockers. Free fruit for staff and there is always a free lunch for staff provided by Iron Mountain every month.

Work was hard, a lot of manual handling with a lot of computer work. Endless meetings that were useless and of no benefit to productivity. Permanent staff, a lot casuals brought in for particular projects and opted to leave. Hardest part of job dealing with Supervisors/Managers that expect you to do their job for them and take on employees. Job was  repetitive and the hardest part would of been the continuous retrieval of weighted archive boxes which are always over the weight limit, warehouse was extremely hot in summer.

Enjoyed working with this company but was made redundant when Iron Mountain took over Recall & made strong management decisions & changes.
Over the years I made very strong relationships with my customer base.  The rapport was built by phone & face to face contact with customers.
I basically provided all the clients needs & assisted customers with all their document storage requirements - locating lost documents & documents stored under obscure names/ID.
I also showed other team members how to find customers documents when there was very little information to go by.
This company was located at Geebung Qld but I have moved to the Gold Coast

I was working with Iron mountain in Botany branch for almost 10 months via agency however, the overall experienced I had over there was really worth remembering. My supervisor "D", Manager "H" and the people working in offices were really easy going, co-operative and understanding.  They helped me throughout my works  and for granting me to work long hours (overtime). I worked in every section over there whether it was pick-packing, loading-unloading and other stuffs. Most importantly the working environment over there was built under trust and honesty. Thanks to IRON MOUNTAIN. cheers

Iron Mountain Willawong has the worst Management Ive ever experienced. Unfair Dismissals along with unprofessional conduct. The only reason I felt like it was somewhat managable was because of the employees. I dont recommend working here at all because of the unappreciativeness that comes from management. You work hard and do your absolute best only to get treated like slaves.

Churn and burn, year on year redundancies.
Lip service around culture and wellbeing, small parts live it, but they are the minority. 
No clear direction as to what the end goal is; face paced and dynamic environment which enables most days to be chaotic and a shambles.
Pretends to be on the fore front of technology but when it comes down to it still a storage company. 
Continuous leadership changes and with that comes different structures/focuses. 
7 different line managers in under 6 years.
