A typical day at work is:
I arrive at the time i  need to, then fill the fridges, rotating the stock.
I then put the money in my till and make sure my hot drinks are filled.
After that I serve customers politely and appropriately.
When the match begins and there are no customers i help to clean and fill up anything that needs filling, also i clean down the surfaces. 
At the end of the day, i help empty the ovens, clean the surfaces and the floor and cash up my till.
I have learnt many different things including stock rotation, correct food temps and how to use a till, i have also learnt excellent customer service skills.
The hardest part of my job is having to deal with the customers when they get too drunk and become rude and difficult to co-operate with.
The management is difficult to explain as they are continuously changing.
The most enjoyable part of my job is that i get to meet new people and talk to new people all day.
My co-worker are brilliant, some of the nicest and easiest people to get along with.

A typical day will be an early start in th3 executive offices then on to any venue booking, then on to the stand to make ready for match days.

I believe I have learn much but most of all how to run and operate a team of cleaner successfully in the work place.

My line manager helps me alot by backing me as I back him, helping me to see my potential and giving me positive reinforcement.

We have a diverse culture at the club with people from many backgrounds an places of origins.

Hardest part.of my job is to make sure I'm fully prepared for the weeks booking, making sure I have the right team in place, an the amount of walking involved can usually be between 10 and 15 miles a day.

Most enjoyable part of my day is when all my daily tasks are met by my team and that I can be confident in informing my line manger we are on track for what ever lies ahead for that week.


I worked in the hospitality section of the Cobbold stand for five years, during that time I was able to gain confidence by communicating with my colleagues and serving the needs of customers. I first started at the position at 16 years of age and continued to work in the stand until 2023. Management during my time here varied from good to questionable as they'd sometimes hire unqualified members of staff who didn't know what they were doing or lacked the prior experience to be put into a higher position, furthermore in my last two seasons working for the club there had been several incidents involving staff and customers which management did nothing about. I think as a whole it's a good starting point if you're wanting to build up your confidence in the working world.

The people in the shop make It worthwhile, the job is seasonal; summer and Christmas periods tend to be busy. there are quiet periods which are hard to fill. At the minute a typical day at work is stock checks, delivery, cleaning and making sure products are presented in the best way possible. From this job I have learnt that using your initiative is key, everyone has their own responsibilities and jobs and so creating your own jobs and taking on responsibilities to share the work load is essential. However, when the team are not succeeding, you can certainly feel that in the Superstore, though when they are doing well there is a real upbeat atmosphere on match day.

I worked as a hospitality assistant and overall the team were lovely and some of the most fun people I have worked with, as well as getting free food on the job. However it is very stressful. There is no where to sit down and we ate standing up. Customers can get extremely intoxicated and on occasions I have been touched inappropriately by them (I was sixteen when I first started there) and I decided to leave because of this. The pay was not worth it. You will be paid minimum wage and be expected to do everything.

I am currently working casual shifts as a bartender for Ipswich Town Football Club. I have worked at the club previously in December 2016 to work behind the bar for Christmas functions and on match days. My role involves setting up the bar before customers arrive, serving customers before the game, at half time and after the game. During the football match I restock the bars and clean them down.

worked there for over 5 years no possibility to further my career and no opportunity of pay rises.

Don't be fooled by glamour of professional football club grass isn't greener on this pitch.

I have been working at the club for a couple of years. The Management is good, The job it self (match days) while sometimes stressful if busy. Most of the time the atmosphere in the suites is positive & it is quite social atmosphere and the staff are always welcoming.

I believe it’s a great place to work for casual income and for young workers, I wouldn’t rely on this job for a consistent salary. The company it’s self is friendly and welcoming. Workers can be rude and disrespectful.

Everybody treats you with respect you are a truly valued part of the team they are very well organised it runs likes well oiled machine and all very professional
