HUNKY DORY

when I just first started, I was feeling the team was great, owner was kinda nice and generous in terms of wages and conditions.

after a while, I found that politics have occurred in the place and the owner has favoritism on a couple of senior staff and obviously it was not fair to the new staff who has just started the job. And the owner doesn't really care how much experience you have as I said the owner has favoritism already on the specific people, so no matter how good you are, those lazy staff could just play on their own bad attitude without blame.

For those people who are already work in this industry for a long while, don't even concern to work there as this is not a place for you to have a career progression. Only to work 1-2 days a week for fun is fine. 

Hunky Dory is an overall great workplace, the experience i've had at within the team enhanced my customer service knowledge and training. 
Although management lacked organisational skills they worked close with the team to ensure an even spread to shifts and understanding with availability.

particular managers made the job almost insufferable
pay rates were low
food was really good and cheap for employees
learned to manage my stress levels, as customers can tell when youre stressed
learned to carry 5 five plates of food at once
gained a lot of muscle from how heavy the plates were
good hours

Hunky Dory had a fantastic environment with amazing people.  although their is no room to move up in the company.  I learnt how to manage as well as how to work a grill.  Hardest part of the job was dealing with an inadequate owner.

best place to work. Best food to have for customers. Delicious food with best customer service. Nice team to work. Good location for customers. Cheap and affordable price for food.

It was good experience with hunky dory.because I learned a lot from there . There are many people work which is  from different culture .It was good for me to be the part of hunky dory.

Poor management
Very short staffed shop. The manager expects a lot without giving much in return. 
There's not enough time to perform tasks properly. 
The shop is very quiet but the work environment is very stressful.


Tiny kitchen, hard to work quickly and effectively in. The owners are very business minded but can be intense at times. Long hours, hard work, ordinary pay.

I've learnt a lot about working in a restaurant environment. can get pretty busy. the team isn't the most friendly when working and some of the customers are very snobby
