Gorgon Project

That was by far the best job that I have been to in the whole of Australia. Friendly people to meet and to work with. Sports activities like, soccer, touch rugby, tennis, golf, , fitness boot camps and with the indoor actives, you have, pool table competitions, darts, table tennis or ping pong. The hardest part of the job was leaving the job, you just want to keep on working there. The work may have been hard, but that's the whole idea of working, you just didn't go there just to muck around , but to work for your money and increase on other work methods and help each other out when most jobs were hard for one person to do.

If you have worked on cruise ships this will be straight up your alley and you will stand out and excel more than the others too. Shift work from 2am starts to 5 pm finish. Some managers been there years which was great. Culture was pretty solid, accomodations and services superior to a 4 star hotel. Hardest part was the holiday events like Australia Day, Anzac, Christmas, etc etc as we were service and never got any break and they were the longest days 

Awesome working on some of the largest oil and gas structures on the planet! Honestly,management struggled with the scope of work on a project this size,but eventually succeeded! Expanded my overall knowledge base extensively! Enjoyed working on a diversified range of equipment and working with so many different people from so many different parts of the world!

My experience at the Gorgon Project was excellent, I had the opportunity to interact with Managers,Superintendents,Supervisors, Vendors, and the client and the opportunity to experience  working on a  world class project. 

I would recommend to anyone to work at Barrow Island as theres lots to enjoy.



Typical work day when the time of cyclone season, I learned how to work in LNG tanks, the management is doing well, work culture is good, the hardest part of the job is when you start the first day when I come back from R&R, but I enjoy the time I stayed in the Island a lot of activity in the camp.

Typical day at work was busy but calm
New it software, teamwork
Management was good
Excellent, there were a lot of extra-curricular activities involving family
We had to produce results, failure to do that would result in termination, long hours.
The Pay was good

I was a productive worker. I operated forklift nearly 12hrs a day for 13 days, fortnightly. My boss was a good employee who valued what others do and gives corrections when need be in a manner that suites the linguistic point of reference.

I gain a lot working for this project and moved up in to a supervisor position 
i worked on different shifts including morings (breakfast)
Crib shift and night shift (dinner)

Safety, Environment, Health culture. Like one big family, looking after each other. Fully support from the management to carry out the job safety.

Enjoyed the job ,working in a fun and loving envronment.Hard part being away from home .Management okay .Work culture good.Learned alot of staff.Was in completion crew
