Go-Lo

I enjoyed working as a cashier and salesperson at Go-Lo. I was employed at the Corrimal and Wollongong stores, working after school. Both stores have now closed, unfortunately.   

My colleagues and management were easy to work with. 

I learned the basics of retail and have gone on to work as a customer service trainer and retail manager. 

A typical day at work included stocking shelves, serving customers and cleaning. We were also required to partake in stocktaking duties annually.

The hardest part of the job was dealing with aggressive customers. 

The most enjoyable part of the job was working with a great team.  

I highly recommend working at Go-Lo. It's a great after school job where you can learn retail basics.

a typical day at work included counting tills ,serving customers,stocking shelves and cleaning .i learnt how to work in a team environment .the management was very helpful my co-workers where very enthusiastic and helpful the hardest part of the job was making sure all the money was kept in order and all tills where balanced,the most enjoyable part of my job was working in a team learning new things made it an over all enjoyable position

It had its Pros and cons like every place would. At the time I worked here the management weren't very good. but since then the management has changed and is very good. And the best part of the job was seeing the smile on the customer's face when you were able to help them with what they were after. and the wage weren't the best.

Go-Lo was a great place to work as a school student, however school commitments were more important to me at the time rather than making a few hundred dollars a week. The job was at times physically demanding which I liked. As a whole it was a decent job but as I have mentioned at the time it wasn't ideal for me to have a job.

A typical day at work was where we can laugh and joke and have fun but still get work done.
I learnt how to improve my Customer skills and to keep customers satisfied
Management was ok.
Nothing hard about the job.
Enjoyable part of the day seeing all my Co-Workers and having a laugh

it was my first paying job and got great experience and enjoyed the people I worked with I have no complaints the staff and the manager was very helpful and encouraging

This was my first job and the typical day would consist of packing and unpacking. Re-stocking of shelves, customer service, cash handling and register. All the co-workers were my age at the time. I was really young so I don't remember much about the pros and cons, I believe it was just fun!

most enjoyable art was getting to interact with many different customers
I got on well with my co-workers and management was always supportive and helpful

working here when I did was a great first time job . and I do miss working with the people I did . but my only problem is that they didn't follow up anything when I quit my job ( wasn't me was my cousin ) so I was out of a job  when I needed it the most at that time in my life.

The management was not too bad, the staff were kind and easy going. A good place to start as a student. I would recommend it to people
