Gelato Messina

I was spoken to negatively by a coworker under stress. While I understood the demands of the job, I politely asked to be treated with respect. After an argument occurred, I brought it to management, but the manager said she didn’t believe me, claiming she knew the coworker longer and that she would give me another chance. I felt my voice didn’t matter because I was new, despite working hard and trying my best. Eventually, I was let go for “not meeting expectations,” but I never received clear feedback on what I was doing wrong. This left me feeling unfairly treated. My advice to others: if you’re not on the manager’s “good side,” you may be dismissed regardless of your effort or dedication.


With a good manager, the work is pretty straight-foward- fun and fast-paced during the summer. Of course there's a few how-you-doing customers here and there but its the easiest hospo job I've done so far. However, the manager definitely influences the work culture and it can turn sour quite quickly...

There are so many guests per day so it is essential to keep everything clean and in order so as to be easy to satisfy all customer. Supervisor and manager are such lovely but strictly, we can surely open up to discuss anything. The hardest part of the job is the recommendation for guests since everything is delicious. Hence, working in the field that you fancy is just great.

I was lucky to have a variety of tasks to perform each day including production assistant of gelato, and tasting it! 
It was a good team of people and I learned how to work with the team and independently when I has tasks to perform on my own.
Management were just part of the team.
The most enjoyable part of the job was working with the rest of the team.

Working for Gelato Messina was a lot of fun! Great people, relaxed customers, delicous gelato and amazing electronic music in the store which made me personally very happy. 
The products are freshly made in store and the managers were very approachable and helpful.

A great experience working for Gelato Messina, the staff are very friendly and welcoming, the owners of messina are fun, hardworking and will always want their staff to be happy. It's an extremely hygienic company, and plus you get to eat the gelato!

I have been working with them for 1 year and half. Management was a little bit funny. It's fun place to work but the management made me fed up. So I felt that they not appreciated my hard work.

A typical day at work was a very busy day especially during night shifts. Even if is a very fast place job is fun, team was great, my manager was amazing, we use to have a lot of regular costumers which was nice. Salary was very good.

The best part of the job is the people you work with: everyone, from the management to the production, is passionate, ready to help in every situation and always with the smile on their faces.

Easy enough job with rewarding experiences. Good customer service is a must and cleanliness is needed as you are constantly operating with food. Great place to work at with Great management
