RESPONSIBILITIES
Training apprentices and welders to higher welding standards in shipbuilding project.
WHS safety in work area introduced and designed fabricated sections for all positional welding training.
Reports on training and skills achieved.
Maintain and train correct set up of mig welding machines.
ACCOMPLISHMENT
Better skilled work force respect from fellow workers and higher management less problems with welds on AWD Shipbuilding project and rework through quality control a happier and productive workforce and Safer working environment over a 4 year period.

I enjoyed Training and working at this site involving myself with the employees and Accomplishing the performance and quality required by Management.

very challenging,great people,with high skills and the majority of employees worked as a team member,but not all which could have worked against us in the survival of the company,challeging in the ship design was Spanish with 1000's of P I R's which was easily the hardest part of the job,knowing you were doing a good job on a new Australian warship was most enjoyable

I maintained equipment register and ordered required items for project needs. I also monitor, calibrate and test equipment and devices IAW Forgacs’ SOP. In addition, I upgraded of vessels including removal and installation of new accommodation modules including fabrication of false deck-heads and bulkheads, laying of deck covering and carpeting.

Assisted others when needed, got the job done, work wise I am a team player, good bunch of blokes, hardest part getting management and the good ideas of co workers on the same page, kept to myself, mainly cleaned up after everybody else, after achieving all tasks given to me best part was going home safely and spending time with my children and grand-children at 51 can't complain. Family will always be first.

Welding and fabrication,getting tools,equipment to job site.how to work effectively within a team .management at supervisor level was good.Good coworkers,hardest part of job getting set up to start welding and cleanup. Most enjoyable part finished product and working with good people.

i learned a lot with Forgacs, i even got to start off some of my own interviews in the end but the position was maternity and short lived because unfortunately there was no further role for me to venture into.

Working on the AWD project was not only a differnt type of fabrication that i was used to because it was ship building the amount of people on the job was such a change compared to working with say 20 or so ppl at one point there was 600 on that job

learnt so much! great leaders, met some top blokes who have become great friends. learnt different welding technics that some people find wrong? but they are right. I'm very happy with getting the opportunity to work on such a large project : )

it was fun to work with the forgacs employees, learn something new everyday as a apprentice. i learned to weld and fabricate quickly and got myself a trade with forgacs, it was easy because i had plenty of help from the workers and the management.

Hard working teams and individuals that were committed to completing tight deadlines and suppling a quality product.
