Being first point of contact for all things IT related in the Engine Lab, and all other test facilities at Ford of Australia was a huge responsibility, and one that I flourished in. I thoroughly enjoyed this challenge and learned many new skills including how a globally distributed development program works, partnered programs, new to me (archaic!) communication protocols including the automotive standard CAN protocol. My client base was 1000s, with their issues ranging from failure/recovery of automated procedures such as data-logging across a range of technology over decades, line-of-business application upgrade paths due to EOL, with custom and commercial-of-the-shelf software evaluation and deployment, EULA agreement negotiations, through to regualr 'office' based products running across a range of Operating Systems from Linux based through to Microsoft Windows platforms.
Being relied upon from ground staff of electricians responsible for building services up to global 2IC Ford IT representatives across multiple time zones with mission critical timelines and project based milestones, during such events as conferencing or weekly All Hands meetings was a fantastic experience - I grew a lot during my time at Ford.

My typical day at work started with preparing the sealer line, for start up, so when all employees arrived, we would get started right away..
The most important ingredient for a successful day of manufacturing, and high quality outcome, was having the most skilful employees in the key position stations.... However, this wasn't always possible due to high absenteeism.. therefore, we required more employees to be trained in more demanding positions, and the employees to be multi skilled.. This was needed,  inorder to meet all our kpi's and customer statisfaction..  This was also the hardest part of my job, because not all employees, either had the required skill level or wanted to be retrained..  That's one of the reasons Ford is closing down..
But, by far the most enjoyable part of my job was, when a new model is launched, the satisfaction and enjoyment the customer gets when purchasing his/her new vehicle...

my typical day at work is working with people who help each other as a team work ,and at the end of the day production is achieve. Workplace culture is always fun and safety is the number one priority.The hardest part of the job is when new model of vehicle is on production and machinery is breaking down and we require to build numbers at set-an month. The most enjoyable part of the job is when everything run well and production is achieve overtime is on the roll everyone happy ,the management satisfied .The management always in a position to help if anything needed or to be solve as quickly as possible the communication always good with team talk every week on Wednesday, the production stop and everyone sit down and talk about problem solving

My position was very busy from the time I walked in to start my shift.
Checking previous shift issues and production output. Organizing staff as well as maintenance as was needed. Checking machinery for any issues before start of shift, eg: air, oil, water, safety issues etc. Stock on hand to manufacture. Every day was a learning experience, in regards to production or staff issues. My crew were excellent, we all knew what needed to be produced, and did our best to obtain necessary results. The hardest part about the job was not knowing what the unexpected would be. The best part of the job was my crew and my peers, as we all worked together as a team.

Experiencing working at Ford Motor Company is interesting, the employees were all very nice and funny. A mix of different cultures and races coming together to worth together. The company is very well organised and employees all work in a professional environment independently under supervision around heavy machinery. I respect Ford's safety guidelines as I was not able to work on the first day due to me not wearing steel toed boots. I loved experiencing various sections of the Factory, getting to know new people and how long they've worked at the company for. The most enjoyable part of the job was walking down the construction line observing the process of the making of an automobile.

Well my time with Ford Australia had been with them for 14 years and made me a stronger person in the workforce and gave me the opportunity to show what i can do in a team environment and complete all jobs to the best of my ability. The people and management where also great to be around and made many friendships over the years. As production was fast paced and there had many challenges which was a good thing to see what your capabilities where and if you can work under pressure . The best part of the job was working with the people who we all got along with .What i learned was being a team player helping people and also learning of others who had the experience and giving my ideas to making it a safe and good working environment.

The work day, review schedule, check production requirements, steel availability on computer and in warehouse
I learned to work with all walks of life, computer warehousing, organizing stock for production, driving cranes, forklifts
Liaise with management to ensure work flow and safe practices
Work in groups to improve production, safety, work areas
Hardest part was the shift change over, schedule changed and it was on, but got accustomed to it, just part of the job.
Most enjoyable was the diversity of work and the many skills i learned many of which i still apply in my home life.

Ford Motor of Australia is holding great drive for employees every year where you can test drive the latest car released not only Ford products and also from competitors. 

The experience was great and you learned from competitors innovations that can be use for benchmark.

The management is very supportive to their employees when it comes to training and giving competitive salary.

It is very inspiring to work in a nice people and culture make it a great place to work.

Driving on the rocky terrain and muddy area was the hardest part.

Driving the oval in a certain area without speed limit was the most enjoyable.

A typical day could be very repetitive.  
I learned a great deal. So much it is hard to compress down into a short paragraph. The most important thing I learnt was to be able to work with diverse range of people.
I feel that there was too much management and was/is very top heavy.
The workplace culture was a typical workshop environment. 
The hardest part of the job was maintaining Multi-Million-Dollar equipment and communicating with foreign contractors.
The most enjoyable part of my work was going to work every day and seeing work mates who I had worked with for so many years.
I also enjoyed being able to help and teach others in times of need.

I started on the production line this was scarey at first but became easier . After 6 months I went on to Quality Control this I loved because each day you worked in a different area of the factory. From this I went into the receiving office where I had to order stock in.I ran this department,the workers would come to the window I would process their order form check how much stock was in the store and write the code on the paperwork so the storemen knew what they were looking for. I met my Husband there and now my Son works there as a Designer of cars.
