Started as a casual trained inside theatre and ended in ed, on a response team. Enjoyed helping people, but found some shift's hour's very demanding. exposure to the violence associated with ed and response team job too much after 7 year's. And lack of support from the professional's who you were protecting to begin with.

Some colleagues were the only reason I stayed far longer than I should have. The workload is unrealistic, leaving nurses unable to consistently provide patients with the level of care they deserve. Management shows favouritism among staff, which negatively impacts working conditions and rostering.
Nursing should not be treated like a production line. We are all human, and nursing staff should be supported and adequately resourced to provide the safe, compassionate care that patients require and deserve.

I loved going into work we cleaned the patient rooms and bathrooms we also handed out there breakfast morning tea lunch and afternoon tea hot chocolate coffees and dinners when it was time and we collected them after half and hour.
Learning and meeting new people every day it was different and I enjoyed it even if im 19 and a cleaner

Although a very busy hospital there is very supportive staff in ED particularly.
Frequent in house education and encouragement from senior staff for more junior to attend.

taking out meals to patients cleaning of kitchens checking menus preparing diabetic meals counting resetting trolleys i learned how to interact with patients good communication skills with fellow coworkers doing shift work which was not too bad management was really good 

Love to work in renal unit and I enjoyed my nursing career in renal unit/ dialysis unit with excellent co-workers and management. I got more experience working in multicultural working environment and I enjoyed every minute of nursing in renal unit. Some days need to work very hard but end of the day I feel I cared my patients appropriately and feel happy.

It’s a good place to start when you are new to Australia as the number of patients are just enough and not really overflowing as to feel dead-tired after a shift. Senior staff are nice and understanding and very helpful .

Flinders medical centre does not value its staff. They have no interest in Aboriginal Health and Culture and do nothing to help Aboriginal families have the care and support needed to access services. Their treatment of employees is a top down management style where power is used to intimidate and control.

Due to the intense and sometimes dangerous aspect of the type of working environment, the staff are always supportive and professional at all times. The work can be very stressful and there are good supportive services available on site if needed.

days were long 9 till 4 but i guess thats a typical day. i lernt lots of good things working at flinders medical centre volunteer. my co-workers are all well dressed in a uniform. the hardest part of working at flinders medical centre is the hospital is very big 6 stores high.
