FITZROY ISLAND RESORT

Disgusting accommodation filthy and falling down old house at far end of island.
Food provided was often rank especially meat products. Staff often went hungry. 
Raw sewage leaks up through paved areas of staff accommodation area during certain times of year, cannot understand how the place has not been shut down.
Drunken staff brawling, addicts working bars and kitchen. Abusive management. 
Such a shame as its a beautiful island and turtle sanctuary. Best part was leaving.

If you’re working here to do your 88 days it might be worth it, otherwise wouldn’t recommend staying for more than 3 weeks max. Such a beautiful island but that’s about it. You pay weekly for accomm. (an old shack that’s constantly falling apart) and food (often times nearly inedible). People they hire are amazing but overall a very poorly managed place that doesn’t value it’s employees.

The company advertises the positives of working on the island. (Snorkeling, hiking, resort benefits) DON'T, just visit do not work here, management has no idea how to manage. Toxic workplace, double standards, employee's don't matter. Only benefit would be the island. But not worth working there. (Do a day trip instead it's almost cheaper)

Being a live-in restaurant supervisor had it's benefits as the location was beautiful and gave the opportunity to live and work in the Great Barrier Reef. The pay was fantastic. The negatives included the staff accommodation which was terrible and borderline unliveable and the management team were difficult to work for.

Working for the company was bad but the Island is beautiful and people that I was working with were amazing. They don't appreciate people's hard work. they don't give enough hours to all of the departments.

Amazing place to work due to location and benefits of free time. Job itself was really easy and the other staff members become like a family. Definately need to be prepared for the huge difference in lifestyle working ad living on an island.

-Casual but not casual, work based on roster, hard to ask for day off.
-All staffs there are friends, really easy to get along with other staffs from other department.

Never boring, long days and amazing team and management to work with. always learning something new. Meeting many different people. Long days - overtime. job security.

Coworkers are good but the staff accommodation and staff meal  was disgusting and terrible. The pay was good but the hours was unstable depending on the occupancy. But if you are a good worker, you will get more hours which you deserve.

Learned a lot of new skills and knowledge to add on to my skill set
it was a very rewarding experience an the General Manager was a great mentor plus the island is beautiful
