I really enjoyed working at Endota Spa, especially the world-class training they provide for consistency across all Endota Spas Australia-wide.  Most of the training was via their online portal, Malachite, and the balance was face-to-face at their head office in the Rocks, Sydney which was invaluable, hands-on training.

A typical day consisted mostly of facials and body/spa treatments with the utmost professionalism across the board.  Upselling to clients is expected as part of their sales method of taking 3 products that you used into the room after your client gets dressed with the aim of selling at least one of the three products. The stunning terrace building in Bowral meant a lot of running up and down the stairs in between each client, so was often excausted by the end of the day carrying a very sore back from all the massaging, standing all day and running up and down the stairs.  It takes skill to fake looking relaxed to your clients when you're actually exhausted!

The Owner and Manager would often reward staff with products and/or treats and held monthly meetings to ensure any concerns were addressed and sorted quickly.

Endota also hold annual awards nights in Sydney to celebrate the achievements of individuals and top-performing spas.

For me, the most enjoyable part of the job was the interaction with the clients and seeing them float out the door ... great feedback.  I also took it as a great compliment when clients would request only to see me.

The worst part of the job was the physical pain and exhaustion and also dealing with the mixed personalities of the staff and not seeing eye-to-eye with some the younger staff (I'm a mature therapist).

I also wanted more hours, but as it's very seasonal, there were a lot of casuals on the books to accommodate the high season, but that meant very few shifts during the low season to spread over all the casuals on their books.  It's incredibly rare to get the security of full time or even part time work in the industry which is a huge downside to the industry as you do have to work hard and there's generally not enough hours to save for a holiday and certainly can't afford to get sick as you don't get sick leave on casual pay.

This was the most dishonest company I've ever worked with in my entire life!
If you really want to get angry every day at work, this is the best place for you.
- Owners hungry for money, cheat the staff, steal hours worked from employees.
- Favoritism of some therapists because they sell better, what matters is to push products to clients, total lack of respect.
- When they don`t have clients for you they put you on call for hours.
- Hours and more hours working for free!!!! In fact, if you like to work for free, this is the ideal place, 15 to 30 minutes at the beginning at the day, plus 15 minutes you spend during lunch time organizing for your next appointment, plus 20 to 30 minutes at the end of the day, at the end you will be working at least an hour for free a day.
- There is no getting sick, they ask you if you are really sick and can’t go to work and they keep pushing you to go to work
- They lie in the interview, they say that there are several benefits that do not exist, they say that every 3 months you are entitled to receive a treatment, but they give you one every 6 months and still you are not given a time to do it.
- They lie about promotions, they say that there are several promotions in the company and when you hit the target you receive products or treatments, but at the end they say the company was not participating in that promotion
- You have to travel to other spas all the time, no matter if is convenient for you to work in that spa, there are days when you start at one and end at the other, messy days! Just annoying!
- They put you on a break when a customer cancels therefore not paying you for that time, sometimes cancellations are long, 2 hours, even more, they charge 50% of the price as a cancellation fee.
- Before the spas opened after Covid they demanded and created shifts of heavy cleaning and wall painting in all spas, with the government paying the staff salaries, they made a renovation in all spas using the staff for free.
- There are not enough towels in the spas, more often than not I had to reuse the same towels for up to 3 customers (even during Covid).



As a senior therapist of 15+ years this is not the company to work for if you have a skill level beyond that of a junior therapist. Protocols and treatments sequences restrict any "personality" you as a therapist can deliver. 

Massage sequences are beyond boring - yet treatment costs to clients are astronomical. However to deliver a "custom" massage the client is expected to pay more. 

Facials are average at best - yet again as with massage, the costs to clients is completely off the mark. You don't get what you pay for. 

Management is continuously hindered by non-therapist business owners who purely see cents and dollars not the fact that there are human beings slaving away in the back ground for their business. 

There is no work-life balance - to ask for a weekend off (even when you are entitled to annual leave) is like advising you have cut off your arm. Calling in sick is met with "are you sure you can't come in". You will be expected to do back to back massages - take a 30 minute break at the most and work every late night (multiple in my spa's instance) and EVERY weekend. KPI's are out of reach for most junior therapist yet nothing will be done to support anyone needing assistance apart from "you need to sell more product". 

In spa trainers are hindered by business owners not wanting to invest "non client" time to staff that actually need and request training. State trainers are almost impossible to reach for help. 

I had heard of endota's "reputation" prior to taking a job with them - however honestly didn't believe they could be true - unfortunately everything I had heard was true. I would not recommend ANYONE to work for any endota - and certainly do not recommend them to anyone looking to buy a gift for someone else. 

My time with endota was so sole crushing I have left the industry, I stayed way longer with this company trying to show loyalty to my clients and business owners and trying to give junior staff the senior support they desperately needed however it was never reciprocated.

-staff incentives rarely followed through and excuses made as to why a therapist is no longer eligible.

-Led to believe your sitting lower on your retail and rebookings than you actually are.
Many, many, MANY products and treatments changed/ put as 'business' to negatively effect therapist percentages.

-never enough stock and product to do treatments at a professional level.

-Owners have poor communication skills 
-they give old products for staff orders that we have paid for. 

-owners yell at staff if ever a mistake is made, but do not take responsibility for their actions or mistakes.

-inappropriate remarks about clients and staff, unprofessional behavior

-Staff orders if not paid for straight away will be hidden away/taken home by owner

-Lies, high expectations.
Owners are sneaky, discriminatory and not trustworthy.

Treatments booked back to back- all the time
-coles brand soap in endota hand wash dispenser...

-Claiming people are stealing toilet paper and refusing to buy more

-'Forgetting' to pay your super or paying it months late.

-having unfair favouritism in the workplace with those who retail well but are inconsistent with their job/ dont follow endota protocol and/or make breaches in their contract

This job is not for everyone. It is very hard you're inside all day in the dark which not good for your mental health and they will book you up to 5 massages a day or more if you just started working there which is unacceptable, once you've been there for a year or so then they will start giving you facials and other services. Your underpaid and don't get paid for overtime work. They expect you to do a lot more for what your getting paid to do. Everything is rushed you don't get enough time to set up for clients and a very short break, that won't be enough for us to rest. 
The staff there are very nice. They only offer you casual positions, so when you're sick you don't get paid. They don't switch the jobs around like a day you're on reception or doing more waxing, so we get a break from staying in a dark room all day. the job is physically and mentally exhausting 

I worked for endota for almost 4 years ,
I have been the chance to have good and bad experience from the same Place .
With a good manager everithing Is good , balance treatments i mean 3 massages and 2/3 facial per day that Is really good with space between clients so you have time to clean the rooms , nice incentives , and really enjoy working with really friendly managers and team.
But when the manager change this became an horrible Place , no gaps between treatments,literally when you have to start new client you are still in the room with the other,  often you have 5 massages ,sometime you have to cut the lunch or they put 15 minutes lunch , the onwer most of the time are not friendly but rude and very intimidating,no good envairoment. And they do not pay you the 15 minutes in the morning before to start. This happend when miss a good manager and good knowlogence of this work .

Absolutely horrible and joke of a work place. There is no respect to staff from managers and owner. Unpaid work is expected, you will not be paid in between treatments when cleaning rooms and will be expected to show up 15-20 minutes before treatments to set up without payment. You will also have to stay back to do client prescriptions and not be paid for it. You will not get a roster and be told your hours for each shift the night before or will just be told to be on call for THE WHOLE DAY. When you refuse they will tell you “well because you are casual you have to dedicate those 4-5 hours to us” which is a joke and not accurate. Very stingy workplace and you are forced to push products and upgrades to clients and it is so obvious you are pumping them for money. Do not recommend working here it is not worth it and you will work so much more than what you are getting paid. It’s a joke. 

it's a busy day working in the spa as we are doing a back to back spa treatments, like facials, massages and many more spa treatments that makes people look good and feel good. I learned how to managed my time so i don't upset the clients. you need to have a good management or dicipline as you are dealing with people all the time, and we always should do a high quality of service. my co workers were all good as i can say that we are a good team. the hardest part of the job is when i'm doing a back to back massages which is a physical job as we are standing at work most of the time. The most enjoyable part was when you make the client happy and de stress them from a busy life, when you make them feel important on that time of spa treatments.

Not the best place to stay long term bosses are rude abs don’t have self awareness they think they can talk about your personal life behind your back tears you horrible.do the same thing everyday too many massage

They work you into the ground many of the therapists there end up with some sort of injury from being over worked (including having no lunch breaks) it’s a very stressful job. You always run late for your treatments due to poor management which isn’t the therapist fault. Expected to do to a lot of work and not get paid for it I.e not getting paid for cleaning rooms between clients or at the end of the day also taking work home with you just not worth the stress or lack of personal life. You have no idea when you’ll be working finding out what time you come in the night before your shift and not knowing what time you’ll finish. You really don’t have a life if you work here
