During my employment at 'Ella Bache, Port Melbourne' I really felt like I learnt so many new and exciting skills from performing treatments to selling and retailing there product line.

The first duty I would do when arriving to work, which i believe is so important and constructive would be to plan my day. 
I really feel that this is a crucial element, as if you don't plan your day then failing to plan is planning to fail.

Once viewing my daily agenda and seeing what treatments and clients I have booked in, I would simply take quick notes on how I could make there treatment beneficial, what products i could possibly recommend them and how I could upgrade there treatment. I strongly believe that it's all about organising and preparing yourself as well as having a positive attitude. What you put out there is what you get back.

I learned so many new skills and techniques when it came to performing treatments especially in facials / skin care and massage.
When observing a client consultation form, I would always look to 'fill in the gaps' and ask them a couple of questions. Finding out what they dislike about there skin type or what they are looking to improve. Analysing there skin is a very vital step in the facial as this is what is one of the main outcomes of the treatment. 
I consider myself to be very particular and thorough when it comes to skin care. For example, I believe to really get the full benefit from a facial, then the client should be on a effective product and skin care routine from home.

My opinion of a salon manager would be a confident, professional member of the team who brings all the elements together and delivers an exceptional experience for the client.

From my 7 years experience working in several establishments, the best colleagues I have worked with successfully have always shown passion  which I find inspiring and has given me the drive to push myself to succeed. 

The hardest thing for me in this industry is working with individuals with a lack of drive and passion which I think has a knock on effect with the rest of the staff and brings morale down.

I am a very outgoing friendly person who enjoys meeting new clients and working with the general public as it keeps the job interesting. 
I love making people feel better about themselves, for me there is nothing more satisfying than leaving a happy client, who then requests to rebook with me.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Good products and good educational materials When asked or wants to be educated. Good reasonable time. It spends where and which salon though as some salons exaggerate about the long hours of late night but still was good  journey .

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Pushy sales, pushy managers if not being supported in a fair manner.
Very upsetting manager when you ask how to use the shortcuts if you don’t have experience.
No guaranteed shift hours as they never employed you as part time or full time . It’s only a day to day contract which to your surprise you can come the next day and they tell you to  sack you indirectly by saying there’s too much staff and they can’t accomodate another one when you signed a contract and you were already assigned for one constant day shift  as if you are a disposable staff. Therefore no security of job and no future if you want to get stable or even get a loan to pay off your house or car. So just be mindful don’t say I haven’t informed you. Thank you

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
No comments . Depends on the dynamic of the environment

My typical day at work is very busy, start at 8:30am and turn all the rooms on ready for the day, help the other therapists set up as well. If we aren't as busy we will help each other out by cleaning and setting up for the next client.
Management is ok.
My co-workers are great, always helping each other out and we are all good friends.
The hardest part of my job would have to be people booking in and not giving enough time for the service. Also management, it can be a bit hypocrytical and I feel I cant say anything.
The most enjoyable part of my job would be getting to know clients and having a good relationship with them. Making clients feel happy and well looked after. Keeping busy and learning new skills.

Review daily client schedule, prepare rooms and time management, prep next appoinment for client to execute results for the individual gains, housekeeping in gaps to ensure smooth runnings of salons, management was always approachable, but not swayed to implementing new ideas, however well structured to ensure uniform of ways. Co-workers fine, although young or soft,
Hardest part was no lateral thinking or total adrenaline one gets from exertion of challenges. Most enjoyable was to make a difference to clients moods and expectations.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Leaving to go home each day knowing that you get a few hours reprieve from the toxic culture

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Dealing with the owner and senior management team. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Extremely toxic, high staff turnover.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Exhausting, frustrating and soul destroying

What is the best part of working at the company?
No good at all for paying and very pushing and bossy manager.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The manager was pushing and bossy. She making a lot of stress

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Not good at all. They enrol 18 years old for management ,even when I sell the product she puts on her name 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
There was on Monday and Tuesday

The staff are friendly and very approachable. Good incentives with free treatments. In general a supportive work place. 
The salon has great mentoring programs with senior therapists to help the passage of knowledge and improve base level skills. 
Management are always willing to help grow new therapists and run regular training sessions.
The only reason why I left was to pursue a career in a different industry. 

Ella Bache has a great culture. Head office are always looking for ways to be innovative and continue to train staff members monthly, with their national trainer per state. 
Unfortunately in the beauty industry the hours are long, there is Thursday late nights and Saturdays, which can make it hard to have a work life balance. In the beauty industry there is an expectation to work a lot of unpaid hours.

When I started, everything was great. For a few weeks. Management was terrible - very toxic. I was consistently bullied - they always hurt my self-esteem and routinely undermined my ability to put out good work. I was waking up every day and dreading going to work. I tried to talk to them about it but they did not care. I wasn’t there for very long, but it was so bad I had to leave. 

I believe that Ella Baché provided me with a lot of Job opportunities both individually and collectively in a group environment. I believe that I was able to adapt to the workplace culture and effectively complete all required tasks.
