A typical day at work for myself is being of positive mind set which would follow by showing up at work ever day. Despite any issues that may be occurring in my personal life, the positive attitude mind focus is straight into play when work commences.

I have learned from experiences working with people from all walks of life with a culturally diverse background that having the patients and better understanding the time for people makes the process easier. 

Being able to manage working customer's that have learnt that their the flight has been delayed or cancelled has been a humbling experienced. I refer to my previous work Qantas Airways as a Check-In Agent. Managing people who have many uncertainties can be a difficult task manage, however working with and support of co-workers allows for the task to be completed and successful still within a timely manner. 

The hardest part of my job with my previous work with the Department of Transport and Main Roads was data entry. Meeting the targets and performing the physical part of the job were not an issue at all, it was only certain points of data entry and navigating through the system to complete certain tasks.

The most enjoyable part of the job is definitely a satisfied customer, also working with great co-workers and having the support from within the team also from the supervisors and managers give a great atmosphere to the environment that we work in.

Queensland Transport and Main Roads is a fantastic organization that truly values its employees. From my experience working with them, I can confidently say that they foster a positive and supportive work environment that allows their employees to thrive.

School Crossing Supervisor: 
My school crossing was on a back entrance to the school and was pretty quiet in terms of traffic. It was nice starting children's and parent's days with a smile and a friendly word.
Worked alone so no work culture as such.
My supervisor was a very friendly but professional person to deal with.
I always received my pay without issues.
The downside to the job was having to go back in the afternoon which prevented me from having a day out anywhere. It was a casual job. It suited me then as I had my own children at the school.
I would recommend working with the Department of Main Roads and Transport as a school crossing supervisor as long as you don't want many hours and don't mind the split shifts.

My job involved reviewing and updating a site-specific management plan for a road materials testing laboratory so the main learning curve was getting my head around all the processes involved in the every-day running of the facility and the environmental impacts of these processes. Everyone around me was, for the most part, supportive and did their best to answer my questions. However, the were some necessary questions (mainly regarding figures,particularly volumes of waste) which no-one seemed to be able to answer. despite this difficulty, the research involved this job was very interesting and I learned a lot.

Support Director by managing his diary, to plan and coordinate  meetings, ensuring all paperwork was in order.
Correspondence management.
Management of branch register
Competing documentation relating to HR Finance and IT.
Cost centre management of staff leave.
Petty Cash, balancing of credit cards and processing qualifications and Licenses.
Purchase stationary and goods and organising functions and fund raising.
I learnt how this department functioned and how to support my Director.
My Director was a really friendly person, the workplace was a great culture to work in and colleagues were very friendly.
The hardest part of the job was knowing it was only temporary.
The most enjoyable part of the job was the variation in my roles.

I have been employed with the Dept of Transport/Main Roads for 15 years now. I love my job, however, as I have now relocated to the Sunshine Coast permanently, am finding the drive to and from work each day, becoming very tiring. The possibility of a transfer under the current climate is highly unlikely, and as I am a mature age employee, I am looking at gaining employment more locally, and in a different stream.
I am a hard working, loyal,efficient and flexible employee who always gives 100%, to each situation before me.
You would be very satisfied with my work ethic, and I am fit and able to continue working for some years yet.

On a typical day, I enjoyed going to work, as each day I learnt something new, which continually increased my knowledge of the products and conditions.  
The team members that I had regular interaction with, were friendly and helpful, which created a pleasant workplace culture.
 The hardest part of the job was the occasional unreasonable disgruntle customer, but if a complaint was out of my jurisdiction, I refereed the issue to my manager to resolve the customer's concern.
The most enjoyable part of the job was interacting, assisting, and supporting customers, who, the majority were pleasant people.

What is the best part of working at the company?
The support I received and felt from my Supervisors and Manager.  it was never ending

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
I felt the wrap up time from previous customer to new customer was sometimes too hurried

i loved the work and the positivity I felt and was given from Management and other staff members

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
BUSY - GOOD VIBES IN THE OFFICE - THE WORKING DAY WAS ORGANISED WITH STAFF KNOWING THEIR ROLES.  STAFF WAS GIVEN ASSISTANCE WHEN REQUIRED.  VERY STRUCTURED

Im currently in a well supported work team. We all work hard to get results and deliver services in a professional manor. Aside from this our team has a laugh and we are all willing to stick up our hands if we need help or are free to help others. There is continued learning at work with new processes and understanding the different programs used to operate and deliver. The hardest part of the job is having enough hours in the day and sometimes meeting the narrow time frames to meet deadlines. I would have to say the hardest is seeing a co-workers leave.

I work one and a half hours a day, one shift in the morning and one in the afternoon. I have learned to love working outdoors and how to read the traffic to safely get people of all ages across a very busy road. The management are very helpful, kind and courteous. I work with lovely people and is a joy to come to work everyday. The hardest part of the job is dealing with impatient drivers who won't stop, even when your sign is up and you are walking out onto the road. I most enjoyable part of my day is seeing the kids smile and say thank you for helping them, especially when its going home time.
