Zero structure to training or learning systems, there are people who have been there for longer then me that haven't been taught properly which is reflective of poor management and training (varies from store to store)

Product quality is garbage, most stuff is synthetic cheap garbage that will break when worn twice or even when opening a box of new stock only for half of it to be mouldy or faulty. You can find some of the clothes and jewellery on places like shein and taobao. Dresses run from $90-300 shirts run up to $80 skirts, vests, and pants run from $60-150 ridiculous makeup $20 earrings for $2 designs from aliex press/shein etc.

Generally store teams are good coworkers and management are usually alongside all the garbage thrown at you. Customers can be nice regulars usually appreciate extra effort for picking outfits

High volume of stock rotation that no one can keep up with sometimes 50-70 new boxes of stock in a week ridiculous, no WHS compliance backrooms are always a disaster, rails are always overstuffed and always a hazard. 

High expectations to hit unreasonable kpis or multi sales for measly store credit for uniform, head office and online team are not very nice, getting called during a busy day only to be yelled at when you haven't done online because you only have 2 people on and a lunch cover and also expected to do recalls, do stock actions, do visual merchandising and customer. 

Constant understaffing and cutting shifts then angry messages about online dashboards and not being up to date on visual merchandising

You're either overworked and understaffed or getting shifts cut. Kpi system is very competitive and promotes an unhealthy sales culture, luckily many teams share sales.

Little to no upper movement. A 3IC role opened up no one wanted it I applied and told after 5 months working there I dont have enough management experience when all a 3ic does is banking, stock and online not even managerial tasks.

No HR filed a formal complaint and no action was taken despite a "zero tolerance policy". If you value your sanity don't do it it's not worth the stress about job security , unreasonable expectations and angry head office/onlines

Cool product with good staff price & lots of incentives & & allowance for management positions. 
cool customer base too. 
Very “clicky” team - if they don’t like you, you will find it very hard to work within the company.
No support from upper management.
Poor directions and assistance.
Unrealistic goals with little help and no tools provided to achieve - high expectations.
As a new manager that has even been able to prove results you’ll still never be given the reins of your store as upper management seem to trust the word of longer working team members and “take sides” 
Lack of communication- upper management calling important information thorough and speaking to casuals about it failing to then inform store manager yet holding store managers accountable. 
Swept the poor treatments of team from other team  under the rug
Felt like I was pushed out by upper management as they very much fell into the “click” and showed no decisions based off great performing store results. I felt I just simply wasn’t accepted by the click and that was enough to force me out 

A typical day at work was always enjoyable as i loved my job, . A typical day included walking around my shop selling clothes to customers, making conversation, packaging online orders to be sent out, having a target to reach and everyday cleaning duties. I learnt many of the skills i have now and the management was always positive and motivating as were the co-workers; we had a very close team. The hardest part of the job was fussy customers that were hard to please but the team and i always left them smiling as they said goodbye. The most enjoyable part of the job was making conversation with customers and having a good working environment to look forward too.

Daily activities were fairly standard. Sadly, the company hasn't updated the operating systems of the tills in many years so they are very slow and hard to use. Customers would get frustrated at the time they took to use. Clothing is cute and comfortable. Last minute notice from head office on promos and because of the outdated system, we would have to maunally sticker prices on for customers causing confusion. Staff are friendly and nice in general, the main issue being the outdated and unusable systems in place, causing most workers to stay overtime to close the store properly. 

The only good thing about Dangerfield is that some of the staff are nice, but not all of them. There’s so much bullying within the workplace, a few of the managers were downright awful and two-faced. Management were terrible, H/O were lazy when it came to the Sydney stores and put all the pressure on the area managers, which made them put pressure on us. The operations manager was intimidating and not genuinely nice. Not to mention the drama in the company. And god forbid you took a sick day. In conclusion, I wouldn’t waste your time with Dangerfield, because there are a lot of nasty people that you have to deal with.

Great customer base and definitely had some great moments, mainly because of other staff members in the store. But the company is cooked. So dodgy, no OHS, no HR, no hope of getting anywhere if you’re not in the click. No loyalty to great staff, I saw so many hard working people get shafted. Huge expectations but no tools to get there. Unpaid overtime is a constant  expectation. Won’t listen to your feedback or suggestions, but will take them as claim them as their own later. Ignore serious workplace issues like injuries and harassment. Awful pay. Very manipulative. Don’t. 

First year was amazing, in store team was fantastic, and was one of the best jobs I had, however there was a change in upper management and it quickly became the worst job i have ever been in. 

Treated very unfairly, had my job and position threatened for no valid reason (I just wasn’t juggling the jobs of 10 people at once well enough for them), and it was overall horrible experience. 

If you’re looking for a casual position you should be fine, a lot of the store managers I met were fantastic people,  but be wary of upper management from there. 


Likeminded coworkers was able to make friends and enjoy coming to work 
Starting to evolve and gain newer point of sale and attendance systems a nice change from the dated ones used prior 
Great clothing rewards program if you perform well
Inclusive safe space and ability to be 100% yourself 
Would give five stars if the salary was more competitive but have enjoyed working for the company 

Dangerfield was an amazing place to work with amazing benefits and great staff members to have fun with while working!
The clothing was comfortable to wear and sell and i loved nearly every minute working there.
the hardest part was dealing with rumours that spread through the store which resulted in me leaving

Heavy pressure from a management team that doesn’t care. Unrealistic goals and unrealistic expectations, Typically not great training and they expect you to treat your retail casual role as your sole priority and blame casuals for poor management. Over saturated market but they still expect you to exceed daily financial goals
