Very busy preparing public tenders for advertisement on the local website. Conduct due diligence on submitted tenders. Contact numerous bidders for additional information and documents. Prepare submitted tenders to the Council for consideration. Finalise contract for the successful bidder. Communicate to all unsuccessful bidders. 

Learned a lot about how the council functions and determine the successful bidder. Learned about the technology and in-house IT systems.

The management is very supportive fair and consistent

It has a very good Team environment enjoyable place to work everyone makes feel at home and ready to help if needed

The hardest part of the job having to concentrate on every detail within the tender/contract document ensuring perfection.

The most enjoyable part of the job is satisfaction that you have presented a perfect tender to the public and perform 100% due diligence on all bidders.

There is a good work life balance at the job and most people I work with here are hard working and lovely people that are greatly skilled. However there is a huge lack of qualified managers at the council and unfortunately there are limited areas to advance within the council. A lot of over qualified people who should be in senior positions are simply overlooked in favour of friends of friends. The heads of department lack any decision making capabilities and unfortunately the council does not listen to what residents want.

This is a local council in Perth and not a private company. I enjoyed working for the City of Stirling , I wanted to experience other working environments and in doing so increase my working skills. I would highly recommend this council to anyone seeking employment.

Definatly alot of politics in that workplace, a couple of the older blokes arent nice at all. 

Managment are great, Peter and chris in engineering couldnt do enough for you.


Overall i think a few angry old dudes ruined it for a big group of very good people.

High pressure and expectations (although that isnt just a bad thing)

lost job due to medication I was getting off when I was forced to resign and was sledged by a coworker until it was a pain working there, so didn't fight very hard to keep my job like telling them i was still on the drug but weaning off

A volunteer role meeting bi -monthly with a great group of City's staff and other volunteers. Discussions range from Heritage awards, Place making Items and review of the City's Heritage inventory list.

I have been working with two business unit community service and work depot.both team I was working was very supportive and manage all stressfull cituation work together and share jobs.

Shifts consisted of 4-5 hours
Variety of things from monitoring the pool for hazardous situations, cleaning and dealing with patrons
I had a good relationship wit management and learned a lot from them

Meals On Wheels was a good environment to work in and thoroughly enjoyed my,unfortunately, short time there I had to leave due to needing to find a paid job
