What is the best part of working at the company?
Visiting clients and helping them. Have their lives changed because we support them in everyday chores that they can't manage to do.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Guild lines between the clients and regulation's  they set.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Work environment can be stressful, the culture side is fine all treat equally.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
It was up early meeting the needs of the clients and  roster mix up most time of the day.

Always hiring and has a lot of policies and protocols to safeguard staff and clients. Everyone has different experiences, especially with the office staff. 

A lot of the SILs have toxic teams but there are also SILs with great teams to work with. 

Rostering is flexible based on your availability but many staff have trouble with getting kept back or being overworked. Work-life balance is not always accommodated to due to constant understaffing and many staff are prone to burnouts because of this as one contributing factor. 

Participants are great to work with, behaviours can sometimes be challenging but that's just part of the job. 

The most enjoyable part of the job is seeing the difference in the lives of the people you are supporting. The hardest part of the job is dealing with uncaring, condescending, vindictive and just plain nasty culture of the organisation. I'm not sure why these people even work here, if they are just so unhappy with their job. I couldn't wait to leave.

Very supportive company for their employers and clients. Great employee benefits. Keeps up to date with current policies, procedures and training including first aid. Very client focused, maintaining quality of life.


I enjoyed my work, I enjoyed helping clients.
CentacareCQ has a cash grab mentality and no amount of hard work was good enough.  Management mistakes were constantly blamed on the front line workers.
Any attempt to provide feedback to head office is squashed by middle management.

Centacare is extremely focused on quality of care,
and the health and safety of staff.  

Wonderful co- workers with like-minded ethics, but workload far exceeded time available (believe this is not unusual in government-funded organisations).

Front line people are wonderful and caring but Management do not provide enough support or back up when required. The best part of the job is looking after the clients.

Great organisation to work for, with excellent work life balance and opportunities to build your skills and advance based upon merit and reflective of good work practice.

Great staff and service!

Centacare culture was great, they looked after both their staff and clients. It was always enjoyable to know you where making a difference to others lives as will as leaning new things.
