Cellarbrations

This casual job is something undertaken to provide some level of income whilst looking for potential full - time opportunities. Most weeks will see me given 2 shifts of 4 hours each. On the majority of occasions, you operate on your own and tally up then close the store.
Customer relations is the highest priority and after a time you get to know some of the locals. It is a Tourist town Merimbula, and as such important to make visitors feel welcome and be ready with info. on sights to see and restaurants to frequent.
A typically day involves re-stocking the fridges & shelves and cleaning, all the while serving the customers as you are on your own. 
I would have to say that my retail skills have improved over the last year and a half and also to be more flexible in responding to the changing needs of the workplace. The management during this time has changed and the position as described means I haven't real seen much of them. Indeed, I have only met the owner once ! They are pleased and happy if all tasks are done which is what I make my goal on each shift.
Workplace culture is where one person leaves as you arrive and this can lead to the hardest part of the job. That is if the previous person has "not done enough" on their shift which can put an unfair load on the next one. I am always mindful of this especially as I close up. My colleagues are confident that when they open up the next day the store will be" ready for business ". It is fairly fast paced especially on the weekend and I have found some enjoyment in being able to recommend a nice wine to match a meal as my knowledge in this area has improved.

A typical day at work for me is serving, stocking, cleaning, balancing the tills and safe, putting deliveries away, recommending wines, beers, ciders, spirits. I have been relief manager twice, running the store when the manager has taken annual leave. This involved ordering for the store, inputting invoices and all aspects of admin, dealing with reps, organising tastings to drive sales, and general day to day duties.
My knowledge has grown immensely over the last 3 years, although I still consider myself a novice. I've learned that a customer is only as loyal as your last interaction with them, and that the way I interact with our customers has made me an invaluable asset to the team. 
The hardest part of the job, for me, is the working on nights, weekends, public holidays and generally anytime that I can't get to spend with my girlfriend. The most enjoyable parts of the job are the interactions with our regulars, the level of familiarity we have with each other, the new products I get to sample from reps, and the autonomy with which I usually work.

Customer service is priority and I enjoy knowing my customers and giving them and enjoyable shopping experience. Replenishing shelves of stock, filling the cool room of beer products, delivery of goods to local customers and sporting groups.
Good product knowledge and good team work to present the store everyday in the best way possible.
Has a great work culture and the Manager is very good at stock replenishment and keeping the store functioning.
The most enjoyable thing about my job is the awesome customers who walk through our door everyday.

I have learnt how to work productively and efficiently as a sale worker during weekdays and as a team player during peak periods. The most enjoyable part of the job is being able to form good customer relationships with locals who come by often and the ability to assist customers in choosing the right product for them.

Have worked here for about 2 years. Typical shift involves serving customers and filling shelves/fridges. Weekend evenings can get quite busy which could be quite daunting for people unfamiliar with using a Point of Sale system and serving quickly. The job itself is quite easy and not too difficult. You meet some funny and quite friendly customers

while working there also help me develop necessary skills for manager such as financial management, rotating shift schedule and many more. it was the the best opportunity to work at cellarbrations.

the independent owners do not care about his staffs and always give low-rated pays. only pays me 15$ an hour. very poorly organised

always find an excuse like i do not write down which products are out of stock but the fact is i wrote it down but he didnt order it

- It's dangerous to deal with thief, drunken and aggressive people
- Working in Melbourne CBD is quite convenient for those using public transportation

They have no respect and a high staff turnover.
Everyone leaves within months of starting,
Mangers and full timers are dropping like flies.
Zero respect for staff and zero peoduct knowledge.

Enjoyed my employment at Cellarbrations,  everyday Was a good day at work, always found something to do that included stocking shelves, cleaning and serving customers.
