DES is a volatile industry, I don't think the perfect provider exists to be honest.  NFP salary packaging is a plus, squeezes the most out of your take home pay.  That being said, Campbell Page's salary is at the low end.  It won't ever be reviewed either.  If you want to go somewhere in the company, be prepared to get a lot of brown stuff on your nose it's the only way it will happen.  High staff attrition, that's DES for you though.  Management generally good and make do with the resources they're given.  Upper management don't see the big picture, or seem to understand the reasons KPIs can't sometimes be met.  You also need to be comfortable working autonomously most of the time.

A typical day at work involves seeing client all day, determining where they are at concerning job searching activities, assisting with resumes, paying for courses and skills to employment such as Traffic Controlling ticket, white card, RSA, etc.

What I have and continue to learn is that within my current place of work their is no sharing of information to achieve a common goal. It is who one knows or favouratism by managers who favour certain employees and bend over backwards to help them.

I don't see any part of the job which is hardest, due to the fact that I enjoy what I do, despite what happens, I do my part and seek to encourage my colleagues to achieve wherever possible

described as supporting people with barriers (varying disabilities) into sustainable employment. Breaking the poverty cycle and changing lives. Sounded amazing.. and it's all lies. As a DES EC you are a compliance officer for Centrelink without the job security. Every day you are made to force underskilled clients into unsuitable employment to generate revenue. Everyday is ritual humiliation. Great job if you have no soul.

The work was rewarding and self-educating. A positive self-image and honesty  about your talents and limitations will help you during the interview process. Learn about the work culture and the business prior to applying and be prepared by asking a lot of questions. Be willing to learn new processes if you are successful and ask for help if unsure about their systems.

Typical day at work was 7am-3pm. An outside working job. I learned to identify the difference between plants and weeds. The Management team was very helpful, co-workers were outstanding. the hardest part of the job would have to be Mulching for 8hrs straight, the most enjoyable part of the job was everything else, it was a really enjoyable environment to work in.

Personally I find that Campbell Page in Browns Pains isn't that good, they stuffed me around a lot, Switching my caseworkers pretty much every week. they put me in courses that I didn't want to do and that didn't/wont help me get the job I want.

On the up side, The workers are nice and try to help with your paper work.

Poor opportunity for advancement 
Often having to do extra hours to actually achieve goals which are not recognised at all.
Having to manage a team with little or no support.
Almost zero gratitude from management when targets achieved

I don't nor would I ever
The people there don't give a stuff about you just what they can make off your back
I never worked there and wouldn't want to.
The staff are unorganised and have little to no concern for their clients only the money they make of their backs

Extremely busy attending clients.
Learned about a JSA environment
Remaining professional with difficult clients
Assisting clients who were extremely grateful
