My typical day with csr gyprock started with opening the business for trading at 6:30am, closing at 4pm every weekday. I was given the warehouse supervisor responsibility after the untimely dismissal of the former supervisor. I was given the responsibility of organizing the delivery driver run schedules in and around the Hobart region, loading and unloading of semi trailer trucks with stock supplies, helping and assisting with all customer enquiries with commercial and residential building products. Maintaining a safe work environment and reporting any hazards to my manager. I had a great understanding with my work colleagues, all knowing there own duties and responsibilities. It was a fast paced work environment but a happy place with good moral allround.

A typical day at CSR Martini would be to walk in to the entire line jammed by workers of the previous shift because of the lack of training given and the faulty machinery. The line would break down 4-8 times everyday from jamming and faults in the line that were simply ignored by management. The tools that we'd use to troubleshoot were best described as "primitive" as they were 1.8 meter broom sticks taped together to scrape melted acoustic treatment off of a mesh conveyor as the line would continuously run. 

No one communicates, everyone keeps to themselves and pretty much "the cold shoulder" is the standard.
I was barely trained and wasn't encouraged for growth by my supervisor.
Supervisor avoided being on the floor, would actually disrupt the workflow and would "play jokes" wasting my time when I should have been working.
It was pretty common to be under-payed, the pay slips would vary when I would work the exact same hours every week.

CSR Bradford was a very challenging workplace. Everyday in my role I was faced with different problems or task which I had to tackle within small amount of time. This was great for me as it developed many areas of my working skill. I am able to work under pressure, adopt to different work environment or suggestions, ability to multitask within any department of the company. Even though the workplace was challenging the management team and staff worked together well and made this a fun enjoyable working environment. The team always celebrated achievements within the team and never forgot your birthday which made you feel like you are part of an organisation who cares for you personally and your career goals.

I worked at CSR Bredale for about 4years, as a full time employee, lucky I wasn't a casual employee as they are always under threat of loosing there job if they don't work at 200% all the time, or complain about anything.
Good shift patterns & pay is reasonable, but little training given, but expected to keep pace with people with years of experience. Everyday you get covered in glass fibre, very itchy! & are told not to worry about breathing in all the glass dust in the air, as it's harmless! 
Very little concern for employees safety if it slows production & one worker even received a warning for following procedure because it was too slow.

Going to building sites and inspecting the CSR contractors installation of the light weight panels and discussing any issues that the builder might have with the product.

I learnt about new products and assisted in most of the testing of the product ( fire test, weather proofing and acoustic testing etc.)

Management was good let me do my job without micro managering me and if i had any issues they where always there to assist.

my co-workers were great to work with i made a lot of freinds.

The hardest part of the job was explaining to clients ( builders etc.) what our products could and couldn't do.

Seeing the project finished and the builders happy and the testing of the products.

Working with this company has taught me many things from the building industry. Allowed me to develop new found interests such as Interior Design, Contract managements and working alongside business account managers. 
I have worked alongside many great people with a lot of knowledge from the building and construction industry where I have learned about many areas, products, building systems and have introduced many important and interesting people. 
I have enjoyed every moment working with this company however I am now chasing new found interests and would like to pursue these to improve my working career, ethics and interests.

Loved working for CSR, well organised business 
I worked in a few different areas so there was an opportunity for personal growth which is important.
It had been a long time since I had worked in a firm where the Managers in the different areas made me feel like an asset to their team which made me work so much harder.
On the whole my co-workers were wonderful people who supported each other.
Typical day was payment allocations in Accts Receivable.
In Employee services varied tasks from employee share plans, various reports etc

Very fast paced at the beginning of every day to get the jobs on the trucks to go to the many building sites. Then reasonably fast paced to get all orders ready for the next day and days ahead. Great bunch of people to work with who are knowlegdable in their job and don't mind training new people. Management is fair and approachable with anything. Very safe environment to work in with an excellent factory layout. Overall good place to work,.

Great colleagues at similar (middle) level, but most of the bond is created by how insanely and arbitrarily difficult upper management make the roles. If you have an MBA, expect to learn nothing, take no input and make wide-ranging decisions without consulting an expert or even really fundamentally understanding the business or industry. If you don't have an MBA, expect to have some of the most supportive and talented colleagues in the industry; however your bond will be formed by trying to keep the business afloat and save the MBAs from themselves.

Great stable long term job, let down by long unpaid hours due to ambiguous salary stipulations. A skeleton crew correlates to long periods of single person days, with little sick cover, or leave cover. Most leave applications are now required to be booked over 12 months in advance and its preferred not to exceed 2 weeks. This company also has no Volunteer policy, any Volunteer activity that effects work may result in termination
