I do not recommend this workplace for anyone who is not part of the owners’ family or close circle. Management provides minimal support for staff, HR processes are lacking, and policies are applied inconsistently. Fair treatment and workplace support are limited.

During my 7 months here, staff turnover was high. Many employees left due to burnout, inconsistent hours, or dissatisfaction with management practices. Communication and conflict resolution were poor, and it often felt like decisions favored family members over other staff.

Work expectations were demanding, and hours were not always consistent with what was promised. Pay is average, and the work environment can be stressful. New staff may experience a steep learning curve, and it can take time to adjust to the culture and pace.

Overall, this environment prioritizes family connections over performance or professionalism. If career growth, consistent support, and workplace fairness are important to you, this may not be the right fit.

It's a very easy job to do. normally the weekdays and weekends are the same. We close at 6PM and open at 5AM. We always have to make sure the place Is kept clean and tidy. we have to always serve the customers. making sure they are first priority. always be polite. The job its self is fairly easy. You get taught on the spot and get payed for it also. The workers I work with a very friendly, they talk to you and show you as much respect as you show them. 
I think the hardest part of the job would be to know everything of by heart. for example the pastries, sweets, coffees and the prices. The most enjoyable part for me is when I get to make the coffees.

What is the best part of working at the company?
I love talking to the people in my community especially the elderly. I love that I'm busy and the people I work with are great.  Management are flexible , kind and patient. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Busy times but there's not much stress at all.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
We work together as a team. Casual environment but efficient. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
It's great making coffee , cooking pies serving customers and preparing food for the next day.

Made to clean, reorganize the freezer, take out trash, sweep cigarette butts out of the car park, clean delivery trays, and was not taught really any coffee making or register use at all. I was a free personal cleaner for a week. I moved the food bench and had to scrub food off the walls and floors around it.

Do not work here (Caboolture) especially if they still have the same manager from 2016. Verbally abusive and not involved in the hiring process so happy to treat new employees like dirt if she doesn’t approve of them. Lack of proper training and no support for learning the ropes. High turnover of staff especially if they aren’t cheap 14 year olds.

Starting the job was challenging. I was given minimal guidance and thrown into the deep end. However, as I became more comfortable with the work, it turned out to be one of the best jobs I've had. Unfortunately, the pay for was quite low, especially for junior workers, which was a drawback.

Happy easy going place, plenty of friendly people. I learned a lot of great skills and techniques. Co workers were great and easy to work with. Most enjoyable part of work, was going to work and meeting new people and helping them out as much as I could.

The company does not value their staff and does not provide good working conditions. The managers would do questionable things to save money and cut costs. No employee support or morale was provide and a unhappy/healthy environment is founded there with high turnover of staff.

I love working at CJ's Pastries, there's a lot of friendly people and regular customers are really nice. The hours that I work is not really good, I would like to work more to pay for bills, driving lessons and student studies.
