a norm day started with turn up 10/15 mins before shift, clock on find a BT. collect all my paper work ( worked in bag room) sort paper work into runs. get started , at about 6.30pm get the last run of paperwork sort and get all done before end of shift, (fast and fun)
management good and friendly and helpfull as were the co workers, the hardest part was if it was a slow day as so many other jobs are, the most enjoyable was when everybody was busy and all/most seamed happy and had a good vib oif a team working well.

Bidvest or Bidfood as it is now called was a good company on a whole to work for unfortunately as I worked the afternoon shift delivering in the city the company made it very hard for all of its drivers to acheive the daily goals. When I first started with the company it was good deliveries could be made but when they let go of all their full time pickers and consolidaters delivery times fell.
This was because now not only didthe drivers have to deliver the stock they also had to pick their own stock and consolidate as well.

It was a fast paced,physically demanding position really good for someone fit,strong and able to cope with the some grumpy night shift workers.
Enjoyed the hard work and was happy with the hours and pay but the chance of any advancement really wasn’t there.
With the right people at the helm it could be a job you could have a good time whilst busting your bum.

I enjoy the connection between myself and the clientele, for me the customer service is important.  A typical day would be answering phones, taking orders, processing and ensuring the delivery.  At times I have to deal with customer complaints which need to be dealt with in a timely manner.  The people that I work with are a happy team and work well together,  The down side of the position is the long hours.

very high pressure company to work for, early morning starts and many things to get right all day as truck was loaded by others and was important to be accurate with orders and be as early for customers as possible, management was fair as long as you did your job to the best of your ability, hardest part of job, non really, meeting and greeting my customers each day and to see them happy when I left

Working for a massive international company was a privilege and many benefits were available when needed. As a result of full time permanent position I was rewarded with various benefits. The night shift was difficult to adapt to. I worked nights for 9 months and I only recommend this position for the right postion.

Bidvest is a food distribution company that always seeks out new staff as pickers and packers, they have three main areas for picking with a few speciality areas.

When you are put into a role in Bidvest, just keep your head down and do your job, the other workers are usually pretty friendly so that's a plus

Arrive at work,after saying good morning to everyone check the days deliveries and make certain all the orders are correct and ready,if not seek out who is picking the orders either ask  how long until ready or can I give them a hand. Once that is complete, i load my truck, checked that my paperwork is correct, do a pre-start on the truck and then proceed with the days deliveries.

Duties include regular rotation/stock-take of goods, picking/packing orders for customers, using correct manual handling techniques, delivering goods to a large range of clients throughout Gladstone, regular cleaning of warehouse.

Management at Bidvest looked after and treated everyone the same there where no favourism, everyone had their own duties and job that needed to done on time along with everyone one helping each other. The most enjoyable part of the job is when everyone helping each other from one department to another.
