Working at Bevilles Jewellers was a great experience for me, I was able to learn a lot with dealing with customers on a on-going situations, there where some down falls in being with in the industry with customers and staff members, I learnt to just go in and do my job and finish that day. I use to struggled with talking to customers up front and approaching them as i use to be behind a counter, until working with in the industry of sales. Which was a massive step up for me. Dealing with management was hard being a casual member as all the management and full time staff members made great friendships and to be a Christmas casual I felt like an out sider. There was an issue which I was dealing with a Customer and the assistant manager had sent over another staff member to take over my sale and for me to go home which I still had two hours before time to clock out, the customer was not blessed with the way my assistant manager dealt with the issue and approached her and made it clear that they where going to deal with my self and only my self which I was able to sell an item off the shop floor which had been there for a year. That was my best moment having a customer stand up for my rights and understood how important that sale meant to me. I made my daily and weekly target that day. Once this happened being in the industry did not become easy I had become to feel treated different since that afternoon, I stopped working there and even as a customer I have been treated badly, I personally will not go there to shop. I still agree I learnt a lot from working there so it is a great and a bad experience.

I loved this store dearly as a child and wanted to work there to help people like me who couldn't afford a lot and those whom felt like the other jewelry stores made them feel lesser. 
Working there at first was really good but then it became intense and clear that there are favourites. The workspace is tiny and quite clostrophobic. There were unrealistic expectations placed on especially casuals, like I was. For example, they expected you to reach KPI's of $1000-$2000+ whilst only being allowed to sell in the sliver section, and items under $500 because your not a "diamond expert" and such else. I was scared to even write this review but I can't hold it back. It is very intimidating and I found myself with casuals who are pretty much discriminated because they aren't how do I say 'fast' or 'sucessful'. They need to get over themselves, the amount of times customers praised my service as a causal and even gossiped to me and complained to me about those that have been working there or years. That should tell you something. Hoenstly, I find myself going out of my way to cover my face and avoid the store so my former managers don't see me, they made me feel so stupid.
I understand it's a strict environment and I'm greatfull for what they taught me, but I think it's too much and too little explanations and training.
Soo much drama but I need to stop. 

I don’t even know where to start. Low pay and when you asked for a raise, they made up a whole review painful process to make sure you failed but refused to look at your actual accomplishments and contributions to the business. Advancement was not given based on performance but favouritism. HO people thinking they’re superior and above those who worked in store. CEOs would visit stores very often without notice and picked on every single little things in store. Cheap products but expected us to lie our way to sell to customers, overpriced items in general.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Jewellery sales experience, and customer relations 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Management pushing for more and more sales for Management  only to get bonuses. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Stresfull, Slow  and with some staff you can work with and some you cannot. I don't recommend.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Sales, packaging, packing, unpacking, displays stock. Ordering, ticketing, catalogue prices and replenishment  of products.

I've been working in retail and customer service for over 4 years and enjoy interacting with customers. I won't say anything about the company, but the management in the store where I worked was terrible, particularly the manager, who kept saying one thing to one person and another to another. And if you are a Christmas casual, they will treat you like garbage. They will schedule you for a 5-hour shift, and when you arrive, they will say, "I need you to leave early because it is not busy." They have no regard for other people's time.

A typical day would look like getting into work signing and retrieving my keys. 
If I had the morning shift, before opening we'd look in all the windows to make sure that each item is facing the right way, there were no empty places and making sure that the SKU's were on the right item. 

The hardest part of the job was reaching targets, during my time there I hadn't retrieved the proper training a lot of the staff were given, but I worked with what I had and gave it my all. 

I enjoyed the team I worked with and learning about different sales strategies and jewellery.

The unfortunate thing about this company is there are many people in this company who are an absolute pleasure to work with.
The Penrith store is the exception to this rule.
The management is rude and aggressive to both their staff and customers. A clique culture - you're either IN or you're OUT.

Don't waste your time.

The job itself is not bad. Management is the issue. Old management at epping branch were amazing but new management that were hired as of Christmas time 2023 is very bad. Store manager doesn't know how to do anything, doesn't give specific members shifts for weeks at a time and wastes a lot of time by sitting in back room. Work culture is good, very diverse. Pay isn't bad but it could be better for the high expectations required of team members. 

Multiple instances of workplace bullying, being underpaid and not receiving benefits (apart from staff discount), and expectations of casual workers exceeding contractual obligations. However, I loved the work I was doing in this role and believe the culture was the main factor leading to my lacking job satisfaction.

All staff had merchandising skills  in stores and keeping them in a neat and tidy area. This was an excellent way for having high sales. It was so much easier to locate specific items. 

By achieving high sales targets we were offered certificates by managers and offered small treats. 

This helped us build confidence in our selves as well as the effort all staff members put into their work.
