I contributed my own expertise for the benefit of my work team and saw tasks through to completion including being flexible and adapting to meeting expectations for team outcomes. I maintained accurate and up to date records using appropriate information and management systems, communicated outcomes and progress with relevant stakeholders, and demonstrated flexibility with the ability to cope with shifting priorities.

I worked collaboratively with my team members, Service Centre’s and trainers to build positive relationships by being service-oriented, contributing to team discussions, listening and responding to feedback and understanding and responding positively to different personal styles.

I acted professionally at all times, operating in accordance with organisational procedures, and was able to focus on achieving objectives and supporting a positive work environment, even in difficult circumstances.

I communicated clearly and concisely and structured written and oral communication to ensure clarity in accordance with the needs of my audience.  

What I bought to this position was a combination of team leadership, strategic planning and business development skills that I have leveraged to meet and exceed expectations in previous positions.  I have analysed core business functions and implemented the most appropriate solutions to drive continual business growth and success. Success in these areas covered multiple environments.

I’ve worked at Bendigo Bank for a while now, and while the company promotes itself as having a supportive and inclusive culture, my experience hasn’t entirely matched up to that ideal. Despite what they say, the internal culture feels somewhat disconnected from the values they advertise. There are pockets of great collaboration, but overall, it can be quite political and siloed, which sometimes makes getting things done more challenging than it should be.

On the positive side, the work-life balance is genuinely good. The bank offers flexible working arrangements and promotes a healthy balance, which is a big plus if you’re looking for a job that respects your time outside of work. I’ve always felt supported in managing personal commitments, and there’s definitely less pressure to constantly stay “on” compared to other places I’ve worked.

However, if you’re looking for a place where the culture truly lives up to its claims, you might find it a bit lacking. The work environment could benefit from more transparency and genuine collaboration.

In my role at the Bank, it was always go, go, go. I never had to watch the clock I was always super busy and thats how I like it.
I felt privileged to be able to have worked my way up to senior management level in a great company that fostered growth of its employees. I was constantly growing with the company and forever learning on the go.
The marketing and communications team felt like a big family and it made going to work each day very easy.
As with all Banks in this GFC the biggest challenge was trying to procude the same or more output with less staff.
The building I worked in was a new five star environmental rated building which was great to work in. We also got great banking rates.
I loved my team and the panel of suppliers that we dealt with and the realtionships I had built with them over the years. I loved that my job always provided new learning opportunities and always had me challenging myself.

I have always enjoyed working for Bendigo Bank. It has always had a family feel, I love being a senior staff member and being able to assist new staff members develop their careers. 

They have taught me everything i know about a work environment and helped me develop as a person and a worker. I have become more confident and developed a strong work ethic under different managers through my 7 years there.

However after recently going overseas for 2 months i have realised that it is time for a change. Banking and Bendigo Bank is all that i know as a full time job. It is now time to get out and explore different options to see what it is that i truly want to do. I am willing to give anything a go.

There have been alot of changes within Bendigo Bank that i have been able to adapt to quickly. I'm hoping to apply that same skill in a completely different working environment to build my personal confidence and experience.

My experience working at Bendigo Bank has been largely positive. The company fosters a supportive and community-focused culture, which makes day-to-day work feel meaningful. Management is approachable and generally encourages professional development, offering training opportunities and clear pathways for growth. Team collaboration is a strong point, with colleagues willing to help each other meet targets and provide good customer service.
However, like many banks, the workload can become quite demanding during peak periods, and some processes feel outdated, which can slow productivity. Communication between departments could also be improved to reduce occasional confusion.
Overall, Bendigo Bank is a solid employer that values its staff and customers. It is a great place for individuals seeking stability, a positive work environment, and opportunities to build a long-term career in the banking industry, despite some operational inefficiencies that could be addressed.

The Bendigo bank built it's reputation on two pillars: service and community. It has always had backwards, inefficient systems and policies but made up for this by having a healthy culture of staff who believed in the vision.
Unfortunately, it has now lost this, by placing increasing pressure on staff at all levels, staffing cuts and increased sales pressure as well as compliance.
Increasingly it is apparent that in the rush to become a big bank, it has neither invested in its systems, nor its staff and the good will has run out. 
Currently out of four branches locally, three manager positions are being replaced as well as vacancies in the next level down.
When internal surveys show a low staff satisfaction, the result is more pressure to answer differently next time to improve the results.
I used to love this job but no more.

As per above plus over worked and under paid with a traffic light performance measurement system that is basically Big Brother and ridiculous.

The senior manager initiate strategies with no genuine idea of what is reality at the grass roots. The think their interest in growth and performance is genuine, however they are kidding themselves and patting each other on the back with one hand and stabbing each other on the back with the other hand.

They struggle to understand the processes, procedures and risk appetite policies will always maintain a little community bank mindset.

While they have achieved some really great community outcomes they do not leverage of these investments to business results. The fact is that even the CB directors struggle to bank and invest in their CB.



I worked for a community branch of Bendigo Bank. I really enjoyed the involvement within the community and the way in which Bendigo differs from the big 4 in regards to providing service to customers. However, branch management was severely corrupt. Intimidation and bullying was put in place constantly by those higher up, including the board, as anyone who wasn’t in a management position was looked down upon and was not considered good at their job. Myself and other staff were constantly undervalued, lied to, manipulated, underpaid, and pressured to do more than what our role consisted of. It was a common occurrence for staff members to be having anxiety and panic attacks in the back office, we were emotionally abused if we didn’t make work our number 1 priority, and were ignored when we asked for help from management, the board, and HR of Bendigo. Very negative working experience within this company.

A typical day at work consisted of managing approximately 6-8 projects at a time all at different stages, so therefore always busy in completing project task.  My week consisted of working from home, working from the head office and also travelling as many projects were either in Melbourne CBD, Regional Victoria or Sydney which required site visits/meetings.  Overall my role gave me many enjoyable moments and i would love the end result of completing a retail branch fit out and also working with local communities.  Most challenging part of my role was when a project had some complex matters which as a team you had to brain storm how we would overcome these challenges to ensure the project was delivered within the timeframe and budget.

Have been working for Bendigo Bank for over 10 years. Your day is always busy filled by servicing customers financial requirements. There are too many computer programs which are required for most customer enquiries. The company need to work with IT to consolidate them, as when training new staff it can be quite overwhelming for them to learn.
Management definitely needs a review. Some of them are very unapproachable, they lock themselves in their offices and send out emails to their staff of what needs to be done.
Bendigo Bank is an enjoyable place to work as long as you have a great team to work with.
