I worked here for a little under 3 years. I made some amazing friends. However, the management is the worst I've ever experienced. My manager was so disorganised and failed to realise that people work to sustain a living. My hours for the first 2 years were fine, the last year my four shifts were cut to 1. I was never given any reasoning and the roster was clearly favoured. I had been reliable/loyal and was one of the few long-term staff, so it was confusing. I was actually asked to help train newer staff, which seemed like a slap in the face when I was getting 6 hours of work per week and would basically be training co-workers to take my hours. Extremely toxic and unprofessional environment. Most other staff had been brought to tears by management - who think it is okay to take their stresses out on other people. The company doesn't care about their staff and will do anything to cut costs. Some staff were paid at different rates, but had the same job title. I've heard the same issues occur at other centres. I could write an essay on how bad my time was working for Belgravia. Resigning was the best thing I've ever done for my mental health.

The people (clients) I help definitely not the appreciation from higher management in pay rates

Lack of communication and the inability to recognise valuable staff

The staff are hard working and bubbly
The culture is disappointment or lack of value for the staff by management 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Lively nice people all around who are all busy helping clients.  I focus on my clients needs and wants and making them have fun in the classes while learning

Management treats you like an object and never really respects you as a worker rather than a person. Just cut breaks by 5 minutes out of nowhere and then gaslit the entire staff into thinking it was always that. 70 lifeguards down to 35 in a month with most only doing one shift. Also, cut every shift to three hours so they wouldn't have to pay for any breaks. Never will be able to find a cover and management is unreasonable and relentless about working when you are too sick to get out of bed. It's just an overall steer clear whatever you do!

I’ve worked at 3 different belgravia sites and in all the management are rude and don’t know how to do their job to help you. When I quit they still owed me money for my split shift allowance and they pretended they didn’t know it was a thing, until I went to fair work about it. They are all bald men and then the only women in management are too stressed to help. It’s under the fitness award so you’re barely making money. Customers are rude and management don’t care about you. Only good thing is making friends 

Often understaffed during busy days creating a lot of stress and overstaffed on days where it's more boring than watching paint dry. Most of the management and staff are cool and will actually speak to you like a human, not just a part of the system. Pay is too low for a position where, if something goes wrong, the company will wipe their hands with you and give you 100% blame

Best company I have ever worked for. Considers the community and how to meet the needs of the community. A service orientated company. Management actively seeks feedback from employees and responds to the feedback via emails, CEO Live Streams, and newsletters. Training is provided to assist  employees develop and grow. 

Coworkers were excellent however some duty managers at other pools I worked at need more attention to detail.  Travel remuneration to sites was not correctly paid have conversed with other travelling staff.

You are expected to train online in your own time. 7Hrs. Thrown in the deep end and expected to swim.
Promised other training that did not happen and excuses kept being made. No air-conditioning in the Cafe or the kitchen.
Some training on the job.
Staff don't really care and do minimal effort. 

Toxic / dramatic work environment, terrible management (half management are genuine bully’s the other half couldn’t care less). Training - it’s not a thing there.
