This franchise DOES NOT TRAIN new hires. Is demanding to know information that they are not given by the owner. Then they are demeaning and nasty when you do not know what that have not provided! The owner manager is really just INEPT. Does not know how to treat people. Does not know how to manage people. Does not represent 31 flavors Baskin Robbins as the CORPORATE guidelines shows. This is a rogue franchise owner, who is giving  Baskin Robbins a HORRIFIC reputation!! This franchise owner should be shut down immediately!

A typical night at baskins could only be explained as very busy, you're always kept on your toes. 
I learned a large amount of customer service, by simply serving the customers.
I must say though, the management was awful, my boss couldn't speak English, he continuously talked bad behind your back to other staff members about the work you were or weren't doing. This created a very immature workplace and not at all an enjoyable one. The shifts were very unreliable, one week you could send in 4/7 days of availability and get no shifts, then the next week get every night until 10 pm.

Generally Baskin Robbins store are quite small so often working alone was quite boring and lonely and you were required to be able to do all of the store work as well as serve customers and manage stock and store appearance. I was also the only guy working in the store at the time so I felt quite excluded and isolated from the overall culture of the other staff

I had to make sure the shop was kept clean at all times
Serve customers as they came in
I learnt how to use the till and balance the money at the end of the day
Communication skills with customers

Unfortunately I found out I was being paid well below the award and they wanted me to do night shift till 11pm when I had to go to school the next day.
Were very unkind to me when I asked for day shifts and when they said no, I had to resign.

Starting from no pay checks to ignoring phone calls I would not recommend anyone to work there. I have worked there for a year until I had enough. The owner/manager who sent out our shifts would not reply or answer a phone call if I said I could not come. They would disappear for weeks on end and decline phone calls. I have received a paycheck only once! And it had my name and details spelled incorrectly! When I asked him to change it he hasn't done it. He was forgetful and irresponsible. Very unprofessional working environment.

Such a great job role, but the owners didnt speak clear English, which made things difficult to explain orders aswell as communication through team members .
Very dissapointed in the way they employe young girl and then cause they arnt fast enough they tell them to go no need for you.
Sometimes members got paid training other didn't. 
Not trained by a manager and have to learn things through team members. . 
And can give you an unfair dismissal.


When I worked at this store it was a joint store with cookie man so it was two places in one. The Baskin Robbins side of the store was always fun as it involved scooping ice cream, making drinks and desserts. It was enjoyable making the dessert creations and working with others. The hardest part of the job was all and any of the rush hours and it was difficult to manage multiple orders at once. The management was great and you really had to step and learn things quickly on your own but it was still a fun job.

The people I worked with at Baskin made it so worth the years I spent here! Made some lifelong bonds and they were the people that made work fun. It is just a job of making a bunch of products and accuracy is very important. Pay is meh - fast food award minimum wages, but the flexibility is good. Late night finishes were the death of me though! It can be a stressful job at times but it’s not too difficult once you’ve got everything memorised. Had a fun couple years here!

On a typical day, health and safety procedures would take place to ensure the safety of foods being served. I developed many skills including engaging with customers to sell products, utilising technology such as the Eftpos machines and labour work such as cleaning and tidying the areas to maintain a hygienic store. The hardest part would be occasional situations when serving large amounts of customers without assistance.

Working at Baskin Robbins was a great experience. What I enjoyed most was the interaction with a wide range of people and building up a great regular customer base.
The hardest initial part of the position was learning how a franchise operates, but this didn't take long to adjust to.
The workplace culture was busy and exciting.
I learnt additional aspects of managing a busy business, and learnt how to be flexible in any situation.
