This workplace uses ‘casual work’ as a form of exploitation. Initially, my experience was positive with consistent hours. However, as time went on, the schedule became increasingly unstable, with frequent last minute changes made without any notice (Even affecting the hours that were assigned to me by my coworkers). The lack of communication led to missed shifts and unfair blame from management. Attempting to resolve this, I adjusted my availability, yet was still met with threats, manipulation and scheduling issues, ultimately resulting in all my shifts being removed from the roster and eventual termination. My experience highlights Bad Workwear’s disregard for employee well-being and fair treatment.

Advice for management: Someone’s lack of responsibility is not another employee's emergency. No one deserves to be threatened and bullied into picking up last minute shifts, especially ones that involve a 50 minute car commute. The work location choices during the interview were discussed for a reason. Stop accusing us for not checking the sudden roster changes that weren't notified to us ahead of time.

I worked at BAD for about 5 months before they decided to fire me. Before firing me they asked me to hand in my store key for "training", they drastically reduced my shift frequency and then went on to remove me from the rostering app without my knowledge. To put my shift infrequency into perspective, I used to work 3 - 5 shifts a week when I was first hired which turned into 2 shifts a month. They did not "let me go" in a professional manner like one would hope they would. Like a toxic partner, they ghosted me, did not answer my calls and avoided messaging me. At the first sight of a newer, younger future employee they could provide a minimum wage to, they'll just drop-kick you and start running for the hills without any explanation. Not to mention that they throw you in the deep end immediately with solo shifts after only one training shift. They expect you to know every product in the store after a few weeks working there. The only really good thing about BAD was the other employees I worked with who were very helpful and caring towards newer employees and I'm still friends with some of them despite being fired. TLDR; don't work at BAD Workwear if you're not looking to be hired and fired within a couple of months.

Working here is the worst experience of my life. The management don't answer any of your calls or messages especially when it is important. They ghost you and then yell at you when something isn't right. The breaks are not consistent and they don't give you enough coverage especially if your sick. They will make you come in even when you are sick (even though you have certificates and everything) and you have to get your shift covered yourself, no manager will assist or work the shift themselves. The girls that are employed there are so lovely and we all work together to get through this job, considering the circumstances. Management lie to you and don't note down anything that has occurred at the store. Barely any customers come into the store and it is extremely boring. You also have to work most (basically all) your shifts alone with minimal training sometimes trained by staff that have not long started with the company. 

Please do yourself a favour and do not apply for a job at Bad. "Management" (aka the four family members that own the business) treat you incredibly poorly, expecting you to work and complete tasks that aren't apart of your contract, while they sit back and reap the benefits of all the casual/part time employees. There is no store managers at any of their store locations, as they don't give out promotions. They purposely hire young teenagers/adults in which they know they can take advantage of. 

You won't be paid overtime and aren't given proper breaks. You will spend most of your shift working by yourself all while being expected to run the entire store and serve every customer. It's incredibly stressful. 

Please save yourself the trouble and do not work here.

Working here has been one of the worst job experiences I've had. Management is disorganized, communication is poor, and employees are often blamed for problems that aren't their fault. Instead of supporting the team, they make you feel like you're constantly doing something wrong.

One of the most frustrating parts of the job was being expected to fold an entire wall of stock by myself, even during busy periods. The workload is unrealistic, and there never seems to be enough help. No matter how hard you work, it feels like it's never enough.

Morale is incredibly low because management doesn't seem to value or appreciate their staff. If you're looking for a workplace where you're respected, trained properly, and supported, I'd recommend looking elsewhere.


Although really flexible and understanding of your uni/commitment schedule, they throw you in the deep end quite quickly. on my first training shift they had me already serving customers whilst the manager went on an EXTENDED lunch break. After a few shifts you are put on alone to open/close.
The real down side is MONTHLY PAY on a part time salary which I did not know prior to applying which very quickly changed my mind about working for this company.
One of the pros would be that Christmas time is not busy so you can take off time when needed.

Management is very rude, picks favourites and only cares are themselves. Girls will gossip about you behind your back. I wasn’t get my correct pay for 3 months until I pulled them up on it and then stop receiving shifts after that. You don’t get breaks and work on your own. If you don’t get your shift covered if you’re sick your still have to go in no matter how sick you are. They don’t look after their staff. Overall worst place I’ve worked and would not recommend to anyone 

if i could rate this a zero i would. i was at this job for a little under 2 months. the manager who takes care of the shifts, is terrible! does not care about anyone but herself and her favourite employees. you would think giving a months notice to not being available on a particular day would be enough to get them to find a cover for your shift but apparently it wasn’t. terrible shift flexibility and doesn’t care about the employees life at all !! working on your own have zero breaks. i would not recommend this job to anyone

• Incompetent and useless managers complain about every small thing you do to pretend they’re good at their role when they’re not 
• Nothing you do is good enough 
• Can’t leave store to go on break or bathroom
• A lot of stress for a retail job
