aviva preach that they care about staff etc but they do not. regardless of your mental health they will tell you that you cannot be off regardless of the circumstances. they change the process of work so much and expect you to pick it up day one. if you make a mistake you are pulled into meetings etc. management doesnt care about you, as long as you are there taking calls. if there is any IT issues out of your hand, it will be your fault no matter how hard you try to fix it you will be penalised for it. no communication within the department. if you question anything you will be made to feel stupid/irrelevant. if you are off for mental health reasons/sickness you will be put on an absense review. managers will act like they care but they are just following the book and not listening to your actual circumstances. do not work here. you are made to sit and answer call after call after call like a robot. 

An absolutely horrific workplace, tantamount to a sweatshop.  Incredibly stressful, decision making on claims spanning a range of specialisms. You are advised to work in an autonomous fashion and be pragmatic. However, your decision will be arbitrarily put to the sword, in a serpentious, behind your back manner, in a kangaroo court fashion. 
You will be expected to take levels of abuse and repudiate high value buildings claims over a single phone call; then immediately take another call without a single care for the operatives well being. 
It is a very cliquish set up, with people ever ready to step on each other, to get ahead.  
The remuneration is appalling.  Counterparts in the same role in Canada earn three times the salary.  
I would advise to avoid like the plague, unless you enjoy self torture.

Assisting Head of IT department with all administration duties, confidentiality being imperative, diary and email management for several managers including Head Of, First point of contact for internal and external visitors/colleagues several from overseas, I learned that everyone is different and patience is a must when working with various cultures/nationalities.  Time management was important as there were very tight deadlines most day for completing tasks.  My co-workers were very friendly and helpful, the most enjoyable part of the job was being trusted to 'do the work' without much supervision.

The training does not prepare you for the job at hand I've been here a while now and I'm still awaiting referrals and telling customers to call back or I will call them back later as I have no authority to make my own decisions and if I make my own decisions I get told off! Was kept back in training with no specific reason why, spoke to some colleagues about my experience here and agreed I was being treated differently in training. 

The company seems like it's good to work for but some people in there treat you like dirt unfortunately to the point where I've now left



Typical day at work consists of reassessments on Managers to ensure they are marking calls compliantly. Feedback completed with managers on their call marking. Work as part of a small team but most work is done on my own. Responsible for planning my own workload. Enjoy interaction with others and some times the hardest park can be challenging feedback which can come up due to errors made by Managers and being able to complete constructive feedback.

A sedentary role which was made bearable by the variety of the calls and the support of the team and Management.
The company were very supportive and tried to accommodate individual circumstances and commitments by providing condensed hours and shift patterns.

Normal office workplace culture. Very hands on with the phone depending on what underwriting team you are in. I was suppose to be an Underwriter but not much underwriting was done in my team, it was very customer service with many calls and at times more difficult underwriting tasks to gain licences.

The hardiest part of the job is telling people there have no cover.
I have learnt  so much at Aviva, I think the made thing i have learnt is to know if some one  is complaining its not about you

They gave me good training in a short time, since i was only working as an intern, they were supportive and always helpful. The work atmosphere at Aviva was quite relaxed in my department which helps if you get stressed easily, because you'll always have someone to help you.

This is an okay place to work but there's not much chance to get promoted. There's not
To much pressure from managers but shifts were rubbish. Better than other call centres but not a career.
