working day in day out actually relieved a bit of stress that was occurring before & after my experience within this job, it made a lot of things clearer to me that didn't make sense before I had started my Work Experience with Morey Excavations. 

What I learnt :
- Better handling with power tools.
- The in's & out's of plumbing, without any mistakes.
- Team Work is a must.
- Accountability for your own muck ups.
- Interaction with owners is needed, whilst of course still working. 
- Take your time, don't rush.
- Ask for help when needed.
- It was something I looked forward getting up in the morning to do.

Management :
Constant routine, always prepared & never not working makes managing a whole lot easier.

Co-workers :
my other companions who were there with me was only Ben & Nick,
they were very close due to the fact they had been working together for more than two years, yet only knew each other as of Nick becoming his employee after the Big Boss gave up his position to Ben due to family reasons but they both came across as very hard working lads who knew what they were doing, Nick was definitely the hardest working out of us three, Ben was a hardworking bloke as well yet sometimes he would be a bit slack & that's why his position as a Boss made him feel as if he could demand everything to be done by Nick & myself, whilst we watch him sit around slowly working yet slowly drifting off into space a lot then back to work he went but overall i don't think i could of asked for two better people to work with for 6 weeks that would end up being a mate of mine.

the hardest part about the job, would have to of been digging a trench for a 12m Fibre glass pool that had an extra 3 pipes running back to the Pump Station, which was meant to be dug by the excavator but I was asked to do so & the trench had to be twice as big & roughly 5-6m's in length.

my most enjoyable part about working was waking up in the morning having a routine that i stuck by, having those responsibilities are what gave me self-confidence, verbal interaction & understanding of how working hard and completing a pool that the owners have been waiting weeks/months on end to be finished in one day, how overwhelmed & appreciative a lot of the customers were towards our work which made it that much better to reflect back on it & start thinking that one day i will get another job where i could experience such pride where working hard actually gets you, especially knowing how much time & effort really is spent in a day only to be providing food on the table & feeding your hungry kids then have bought a swimming pool knowing that feeling of their own accomplishments have been met.

This was a strictly commission-based position which was one of the reasons I took on the role. I'm very confident in my sales abilities and prefer to call the shots on how much money I bring home each month. When I started with the company I was permitted to go to their once a year company training that is out-of-state. This proved invaluable for me as it allowed me to network and pick the brains of the top salespeople within the company. After I returned from my out-of-state training I had to quickly prove myself, so I set out to be the best but what I quickly discovered was to get a client to close on the day a client needs real assurance that they are not only getting a product that is second to none but also at a competitive price. With that information, I decided to concentrate my efforts on not only showing what my company had to offer but also collecting evidence of my competition. By collecting other quotes previously given to my clients and collecting photos of jobs done by other companies I was able to reiterate all those things that made Australian Outdoor Living the best company to align themselves with and proceed with confidence. As my manager used to say it is that extra 1% more effort that can make the world of difference and I believe that has been the key to my success.

Working as a lead generator for AOL, dealing with all types of incoming calls, also web, facebook and other inquiries. Making sure the customer receives the best possible service and we really look after them. Also working in trade shows and shopping centre face to face inquiries. It's a Sales environment so its fast and furious and we are expected to step up, use initiative and work as a team.
The Managers and team I work with are awesome, every Managers door is open for discussion and problems are solved. Issues are dealt with in a timely manner. Standards are high but we are a family that works together for the same goals. Regular end of month casual days and communal lunches, tickets to the footy and other social events. Yearly conferences with people who engage with us and aspire me to be better. Everyone gets cake for their birthday. Our workplace culture is passionate and enthusiastic. The hardest part of my job is making sure customers are aware of what we do and what we offer as a custom built product to suit their needs. The most enjoyable part of my job is the people I work with, we roll as a team and take the highs and lows together.

I came from a B2B and manufacturing background to this retail, customer focused business and have not looked back. AOL are experts in what they do and the attention to customer satisfaction is second to none in my experience. Having worked with companies that push any poor quality product into the market with no regard to the actual end of line user it is just so rewarding to be involved with a company that actually care about the product and service.

AOL is a truly professional home improvement retail operation with tried and proven systems that work. The general culture is fantastic with excellent attention to the all-important staff that run the business. The development culture is also top notch with all level positions being encouraged to train and progress in the business. Like so many good businesses you get out what you put in so if you are looking for a free ride look elsewhere. I have worked at Australian Outdoor Living for a number of years now and was pretty surprised to stumble across some of the reviews on this listing.

AOL is a great place to work. The people, the vibe, the culture, the beautiful office space, the opportunities, the perks and benefits, the brand itself... when I tell people I work at Australian Outdoor Living, I am proud to do so.

It's the small things that make a big difference as well and there are a lot of them... cake on staff members birthdays, charity involvement, free dress fridays once a month, free staff lunches, tickets to sport games etc., the community spirit and the office coming together for people's big birthdays and milestones...

Australian Outdoor Living is a company unlike any I have worked for in the past. They value people over everything else and ensure that customers and staff alike have an excellent experience with every interaction.

Through my years at Australian Outdoor Living I have learnt more than anything the value of clear and consistent communication. When you open up the lines of communication most issues can be nullified.

A company that constantly promote growth among its people by means of constant training both using internal and external resources. Although it is a busy environment, it also provides a lot of opportunities to learn and also grow professionally.

The support provided among peers and managers is also great because it has allowed me to develop my career.

Management didn't do a whole lot to make sure that staff were fully trained and up to date on products. I was offered to come back into the office for further training, which I thought was great, but nothing happened. Told management I wasn't enjoying the work, so I stayed until they hired someone to take my place, as staff was very lacking. Went a week without work before being told that I no longer was an employee, by text. No phone call, no email. Very disappointed with Management in Canberra.

Everyone at the office is amazing, fun, lovely, and caring people.

It is a competitive role you get paid hourly and commission.

The job it’s self is amazing you meet lovely people everyday and get the experience places you’ve never heard or been to.

Overall amazing but when it comes to pay it’s not so great if you live away from home and have no experience in sales consultant. 

They’ve gone out of their own way to train me the way I am meant to be trained which was amazing by them. They are really committed people and would help out no matter what. 

Having won the top salesperson in their first year nationally in 2015(Rookie Of the Year Award),  personal stress-related issues on my homefront caused a slump in my energy levels and creative endeavour which caused a drop in my sales figures and my demise at AOL. 

Those issues were resolved subsequently, and I went on and back to being in top sales form working as an Independent Sales Consultant in the Solar Power Industry.
