There are good security measures in place for staff safety within the community, whilst supporting clients; and at the office or within the public arenas.
The entire company is very culturally inclusive for staff and clients of all backgrounds and orientations.  I was pleased have to opportunity to work with passionate and knowledgeable staff from all walks of life, of various ages, ethnicity, cultures and beliefs. 
Unfortunately, as nice as my co-workers were in general, the company is a very inflexible workplace for staff when it comes to supporting their family commitments.
Poor staff supports, undependable staff supervision processes and unreliable team support from all management levels made it an unpredictable and often stressful work environment.  
There was an early indication from management leaders of supports to attend, and the facilities for, all staff to undertake Personal Development training, but the reality was vastly different and most staff were still awaiting long-overdue and promised training sessions.

Residential care is a rewarding sector, however, the workplace culture at Anglicare is toxic, management are bullies and the staff turn-over is huge. It is a blaming/shaming culture with poor systems, management through to HR and higher executives are corrupt, they promote "staff well-being and work-life balance" but are highly critical of their staff, have limited knowledge of burn-out, there is limited support other than EAP and staff are made to feel guilty and judged. They consistently abuse children's rights and the rights of staff, they lie, they cover up major incidents or issues and are more concerned with their appearance and reputation than  they are with building a positive and healthy workplace. The majority of staff are unhappy and fearful, staff have previously/continue to have their employment threatened by middle management if they speak out against the organisation or raise issues and concerns. If you value your mental health, happiness, professional integrity and safety then look elsewhere for work, this is not an organisation you want to become involved or associated with.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Managers were not supervised directly and didn’t behave in a professional manner. 
Staff were never consulted only told what was changing. Lack of genuine supervisions and no real regard for clients

Management and lack of accountability

Toxic culture in out of home care

Very stressful, intimidating environment

They have been very supportive. Working in the community services industry is difficult considering the nature of the role but the team(s) are all very understanding.

All teams are very professional

In family services, they do not overload your case load so it is manageable. There has been a lot of clients in crisis over Covid lockdown and this has been hard - management has been supportive.  Anglicare is open to partial work from home/office arrangement.  I have enjoyed working there and intend to stay.

Oppressive environment where workers own family needs are overlooked. High turn over of staff and micro-management. 16 week intervention isn’t long enough to change generational family cultures so the service becomes a revolving door to clients. 

Anglicare Victoria is full of diversity and opportunities for growth and skill development. the team supports and accepts your lifestyle and create a fantastic workplace culture, Anglicare Victoria puts in all their efforts to create appropriate and effective programs for all their communities and strive for betterment of the state.

I have just begun volunteering with Anglicare Victoria in a Lead Tenant Role,  A lead tenant is a member of the community who volunteers there time to live with young people and to help them transition into living independently. The program is client focused and family centred, and is concerned with the recovery of each young person within their developmental stage.

I enjoyed my time with Anglicare immensely. They are the only organisation I know who genuinely care about staff and clients. I was really impressed with the training, induction, culture and ethos. 

The place I used to work in a house there were 6 kids  and all of them were from the same countries.i treated them well. They respected me a lot and listening to me. 

I started work with Anglicare in a very good mood and excited but finished suddenly in a very sad mood. Couldn’t get a chance to say good bye
