General duties are executed by the AP team with my role overseeing and problem shooting, with mind to reviewing and improving processes and procedures.  Investigating potential options and implementation of such if appropriate.  Many changes have been implemented to processes and procedures and efficiencies in this department overall have been huge. The hardest part of the position is time management, however can say that my skills in this area have changed and improved dramatically as a result.  The most enjoyable part of this role is the opportunity to be able to grow and develop the team with new and exciting avenues of improvement and to see the benefits for the team and the external stakeholders.

Albury Wodonga Health is a growing and ever changing, progressive health service that spans two State borders - NSW and Victoria.
The CEO has progressive and has undertaken an extremely difficult task - getting the health service into a sustainable financial position.  This has caused many employees concern as there has been considerable change implemented.  I believe this has been necessary to take the service into the next 50 years.
Whilst there has been lots of change incorporated and is ongoing, I firmly believe that Albury Wodonga Health is a fantastic place to work with multiple opportunities to advance both professionally and clinically.

Typical day is overflow of patients but team work makes it smooth operation. I basically learned more about food safety and hygiene, special dietary requirements for patients, time management and overall kitchen duties. Mangement is always keen to help and provide necessary training to upgrade the kitchen safety and staff enhancement. Sometimes the job is really challenging due to absence of staff members. Most enjoying part is providing high quality food to the sick and elderly patients and helping them to get right diet for their health needs

Permanent staff members were helpful and supportive

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
High turnover of staff, lack of orientation 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Noisy and stressful, other workers not mindful of other workers space and disrespectful.   One of the new senior nurses a bully.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Busy, busy, busy!! Stressful and lacked leadership in the workplace.

typical day started at 3pm with cleaning floors then doing dishes ,cleaning equipment , emptying bins etc as well as delivery of meal trolleys to wards and collecting them. At other times did stock control and helped out other kitchen staff.

hardest part of job was time management. I found I was a bit slow.(work was very labour intensive) best part of job was other staff who helped out when they could.

Interview was great, onboarding was non existent. Thrown into the deep end. Strange mix of staff that appear to think they are above floor staff. Performative work culture where there is a lot of "busy" work but not a lot getting done. Staff take advantage of personal chore in work hours. Would not recommend if you take pride in your work.

I worked for Albury Wodonga Health for 13 year in many different roles, I worked in the catering department and learnt many valuable skills, delivery of all meals including mid meals, cooking and preparation of meals and modified diets..all aspects of working in a commercial kitchen, MO W and patient and staff meals...I interacted every day with nurses and patients...it was a great place to work and made many friendships whilst there...

Terrible culture from all levels of management. No possibility of job progression. Poor skill mix and constantly short staffed. High work demands and stress with little to no support from direct management. Very much a blame culture with fault directed at workers. Awesome clinical staff work really hard however there is no sense of team culture. Issues brought forward are ignored and not dealt with

Little to not responsibility has ever been taking at Albury Wodonga health bullying is very rife working here. Half the employees are clearly on something and that’s the person you’re meant to work with. Management likes to calls you up also on your days off to yell at you. 
Wouldn’t recommend working here stand over merchants.

Excellent place to work . I highly recommend Albury Wodonga Health service to everyone. Their Acute & Community Mental services are swift & professional in every aspect . The entire staff work hard in a collective effort to deliver 1st rate health care to all in need.
