Adelaide Casino

I loved working for Adelaide Casino as a Table Games Supervisor, overseeing croupiers at their tables, dealing various Casino games, i.e. Blackjack, American Roulette, Baccarat, Poker plus other minor games. My position entailed the following:
Ensuring staff were working to the correct procedures implemented by the Casino.
Checking cash transactions and payout calculations.
Monitoring Customer behaviour to ensure staff under my supervision were safe and not threatened in their workplace.
Providing the Best possible Customer Service to our clientele, to ensure their visit was a memorable one.

A good balance between home life and work life is achievable, i.e. shift work is particularly advantageous to those staff with children, who have partners with regular 9 to 5 hours.

It was a great learning experience at Adelaide Casino, working with many people from culturally diverse backgrounds, and customers alike,I learnt to have more patience, acceptance and understanding of people in general. There was no age discrimination in any department which makes it such a positive and interesting environment to work in, it keeps one thinking "young." 

Management were always approachable and contactable and it is always good to know you have their back up where it is required. The culture of the workplace generally is one of friendship and acceptance across a wide age range.

The Valet Team was a great environment to work in. Our team (one of four) was an exceptionally close knit group and we won the Team Incentive Rewards and Shining Star (individual achievement) awards on many occasions.
The most difficult part of the job was the 24/7 rotating roster which made life difficult in the home/social environment.
We received many benefits including meals provided, all wardrobe/laundry catered for and many social club benefits (ie discounted concert tickets) and free parking which helped to relieve the pressures of the exhausting hours.
Interactions with our customers was my favourite part of the job.
Building customer relations was something I prided myself on and was my main motivation for applying for Senior Valet Attendant.
Completion of the Frontline Management course was a highlight of my time at Adelaide Casino

Paid breaks every hour (15 or 20 minutes), penalty rates and enjoyable work to an extent.

Casual or Part time is not good for this role, being guarenteed 15 hours a week, e.g 8 hours on a Monday (7pm-3am) and then a 8 hour saturday shift (10pm-6am). It makes it extremely difficult to have a sleep routine - this led me to a develop sleep disorder.

Shift work was difficult esp with quick turn around from day to night shifts and vise-versa.
Good social life with plenty of staff shows and good pay on weekends and public holidays.

An exciting place to work in with many different job roles within the gaming floor. Always opportunities to be promoted within, many different roles or departments. Social scene within staff can be a great lifestyle.

A very reactive work place, no long term plans were ever stuck to. The board didn't interfere with operations, however they were always insisting that WOW needed to be higher, not waiting for complete figures at end of month.

Good place to work, role involved heavy lifting. Management is understanding and act on any concerns.
The hardest part of the job is the actual collection of the coins.
I enjoyed the entertainment aspect of the venue.

Very good work culture especially in the early days I was there. Changed a little in the later period due to reshuffling of departments an loss of key staff due to redundancy

Excellent support from Managers.
Lots of hours on offer.
Considering meals are free and laundry is looked after, it allows for my time at home.
Opportunities to excel in other departments.

This is the best job l have ever had, my coworkers were amazing. The cars l got to drive were rather amazing to ( sometimes). The Casino has a great working enviroment.
