walked in off the street looking for work 11 years ago, a week later I had a job. The (then) state manager was straight forward and earnt my respect even though others saw him as a bully. However he turned out to be crooked. Our department had a good work environment and we had each others backs. 5 years later and moving to a new site incorporating other departments and change of management and much turn over of staff, things began to sour. Less staff and more product demand created more stress . Work place harassment was tolerated by management depending on who was receiving it. Some of the Christmas parties were good and the give aways by senior management via head office were generous and very much appreciated.

ARB is very fast based and in that perspective you can only half plan the day ahead of your self incase something changes. makes it difficult but not unmanageable. As a leading hand my day starts calling our freight company to find out whats headed our way for the day. once i have an idea of my days major drop off then i can plan my workers and jobs that need to be done the. the most important of these jobs short of receiving in stock from Melbourne is preparing the bull-bars for shipment to clients. On a bad day i can have anything from 5 trucks and 3 40 foot containers arrive in a single day that needs to be completed that day or the next at worst. i originally had a team of 6 workers including my self but at the moment that has dropped to 4 because of cut backs on budget.

In my time working their they never really treated me like I was apart of the team because there's so many people, there were people in many groups and unless you're apart of those groups you're a bit of an outcast among your co-workers.

The Supervisors were fine but when it came to personal things with individual employees matters, supervisors couldn't really provide support due to amount of pressure that they are under on a day to day basis.

The work itself was fine, very repetitive but if you can deal with that then it's fine, decent pay rate, there are issues with language barriers with a lot of your co workers which gets easier as time goes on but can be frustrating at first,

I found this location to be a poor fit for my expectations of a professional environment.

Communication between management and employees was often negative, and I did not feel supported or valued in my role. I found the overall atmosphere stressful, and staff turnover appeared to be higher than normal.

The workshop was often loud and chaotic but expected based on the preferred employee standard. I would have preferred clearer processes, better organisation, and more consistent professionalism throughout the workplace.

I did not enjoy my time with the company and ultimately decided it was not the right workplace for me.

From fitters to warehouse staff are great ppl but managers to supervisors have a bullying mentality which is pretty much baby see baby does which has grown into the bullying and blame culture for ARB.Very high turnover of workers which leads to fitters making to many mistakes cause of work overload and stress.You have unqualified young workers who are thrown into positions without enough experience & training.By far the worst company I’ve ever worked for.

No pay rise given for four years  by state manager, even though I came in knowing nothing and leaving being able to open and close the store and run it. All pay rates from sales person to sales person are different, I got $21.50 per hour the same job at anther store got $28.00 per hour. Little or no training given to stores outside City area
Owner of company is only after the eternal dollar has lost
the love of 4WD and customer contact !.

management engaged in bullying workers to the point of causing panic attacks to employees the state manager and production manager engage in bullying workers to get what they want and they have certain people in supervisor roles who also engage in bullying other workers and a culture of back stabbing and setting people up to fail which is highly illegal of course

This job offered great people to work with, but the interview process was too long. 
The pay is the worst I have ever had or seen. Disgusting to see a huge company paying their staff the absolute minimum. What a joke! 
No opportunity for advancement and little overtime. Avoid if possible!

Depending on the owner of the store things might be different but you will get good people to work with and other that push you under a bus to get what they want and get under paid for hours work. Would recommend doing you research on the store owning before applying for a job at certain store

ARB was one of my favourite work places.  The team I was part of at Orange ARB was a great one. The manager was strong and fair. Working every second Saturday was the normal roster but I chose to work more and the boss was happy with that.  They support and training  from company was excellent.
