2Evolve's job pitch preaches a laid back work atmosphere where everybody has a cup of tea and a laugh. In reality, it's a pressure cooker of competitive sniping where only the most desperate and manipulative can survive. The office itself is nice, professional, and climate controlled, but it always baffled me how empty it was. 2Evolve occupy a massive floor space, but only seem to use a small fraction of it, the rest is just being wasted.

This is a job that sets very unrealistic goals and rewards performance above all else. If you're naturally talented at lying through your teeth, then you'll probably be fine. But if you have an ounce of morality then you will probably find this job quite conflicting. I was part of an intake of 6 people and 4 had quit after the first week. 2Evolve loves hiding behind the clean image of the charities they work for, but their methods are quite slimy and ethically grey.

Pretty much their entire workforce is made up of poor UK back packers who desperately want to stay in Australia. It broke my heart to hear the same story from almost every employee "I came to Sydney on Holidays and didn't want to go home, so I started working here". 

Nobody gets promoted because nobody stays at 2Evolve. Almost everybody leaves after a few weeks, except for the entrenched management. The same manager who evangelised the company during my interview also confessed to their shifty practices when I quit. She also called me a naive idiot to my face because I was leaving due on moral ground.

Team leaders can be quite ruthless. If they think you're taking too long on calls, not pushing people hard enough to re-contribute, or using the wrong kind of double-speak, they have no problem pulling you aside to scream at you. It was very demoralising to have them give patronising fake motivational speeches at the beginning of a shift when you know they'll be spending the next hours passive aggressively taunting you and listening in on your calls.

Even things like going to the kitchen to get a glass of water or using the bathroom are monitored closely. My team leader made a habit of patrolling the men's room to make sure we were actually using the toilet and not just wasting time.

This job will pay you well, but make you miserable. Everybody there is pretty grouchy and bitter. If you're going to work in a call centre, work in one that covers inbound calls. Cold Calling people is a death sentence.

They also neglect to mention (until you get the job) that you'll be working A LOT of weekends.

Management? More like micromanagement.
Are you told the truth by them? Be my guest to find out. You are most likely going to be disappointed unless you're a 30 year old backpacker who has a dire need to eat in a country you're unfamiliar with.

2evolve's receptionist at the time I was there was laughably bad at being the face of their company. Utterly cold.

I did not meet any callers who worked there longer than 2 weeks. The 95%+ staff turnover will surprise you as 2evolve's management makes out in their ad's that their company is the pick of the litter of all call centers! 
They stage interviews almost everyday and butter the interviewees up to be sent to the front line of phones almost immediately.
 
Paid training was claimed to be a week. It was 4 hours on the first day reading print offs in a small, air conditioned room. The sheets were slightly helpful if you didn't have sales experience. You will be 'trained' to be ethical. Just watch as your team leader lies through their teeth to some broke uni student or lonely old lady to get an on going contribution of $5 a month through their credit card details. The job is to effectively pretend to be moral, ethical and other all-encompassing catch phrases that management would use, to only forget these standards in the call room to make consistient sales. Double-think. 

I loved the location and air conditioning. 

I did not face abuse on the phones often. The customers generally wouldn't go that far as most of them know the charities we represent. 

As an Aussie, I felt this company was a poor excuse for poor Brittish travellers to climb the ladder to play power games with the incoming, stay to get paid, leave in 1 week staff. 

If you need to get paid, by all means, stay a week and get paid hourly. Look for jobs at the same time. Operative word in the last sentence is JOB. This is quick money. I got paid for my time. Thank her Majesty!

Don't get your hopes up, folks. This is not the best call center job 'ever'.

A typical day at work: On the phones all day, with 2 30min breaks. They say it is all 'warm calling' but that is definitely not the case. People who you call are split into 3 categories. Reactivations, Upgrades, and Long lapses. All three of these categories are people who have donated or shown an interest in the charity but have no idea that you are about to call them asking them to donate a bit extra or to renew their subscription. Of course it is a morally good business, bringing more cash flow to the charities, but it is extremely difficult. Most of the people you call, whether they are already donating or have donated in the past are very reluctant to even speak to you or listen to what you say. That means the chances of you making a sale are very slim. Even so, you have to reach a certain target by the end of the week or you're fired. Doesn;t matter if you are 5 months in or just starting. They will fire you on the spot if you cannot make your targets (which are quite high).

To summarise, this job is not for the faint of heart. If is extremely fast paced, there is alot of pressure to perform, and honestly, if you're looking for a job with any bit of leniency or calm, you should probably turn away. 

I took this job thinking it would be easier than my previous COLD approaching door to door sales job for a different charity. Wrong. You do get to sit down for 8 hours and read from a script but the pressure you face... it's difficult to say the least.

If you are a sales gun, full of energy, very manipulative, and have robot like qualities, then go for it. It seems counter intuitive that a charity based job requires the most cold hearted workers but thats what it comes down to.

Other than that the people are pretty supportive since they are doing the same thing as you. There is an incentive that if you stay working there for 6 months with 98% attendance you get a $1000 bonus. It just goes to show how desperate they are to keep people on board.

The company advertised will train no experience 8 weeks paid training no copies of my contract which I do not know terms and conditions.    After I complained of lack of training and my team members inability to train me as he had to meet his own objectives  l was sent into a meeting I did make progress the day I was fired fifth day at work so much for promised training.  Johno as I know him only first name ran the call centre he said your casual performance based company your dismissed did not meet targets. I told him this was unfair as their advertising stated no experience train you 8 weeks he had no problem giving me my marching orders.  I had to pay for my tag and also my headphones all amounted to $200 what a shame they hide behide dishonest practices his excuse your a casual no security really cant complain he would not release his managers name shame his HR employ such 

They could be successful but HR would have to train staff and provide equal opportunity to the staff they employ but this firm is smoke and mirrors  do not disclose name on ASEC they trade under different names the Fundraising group this week adds again to rip off the vulnerable.

On the phones for 8 hours trying to drum up extra donations from existing supporters. It was an outbound warm calling centre. I learnt to develop a telephone manner to build quick relationships with supporters over the phone. It was a very quick paced environment that required a lot of energy and quick thinking. There was little to no job security as it was all performance based. As many of my co-workers were in similar situation as myself we were well supported as a team. I stayed for over 5 months and raised over AU$230,000  for various international charities such Amnesty Internation, Guide Dogs and MSF. I was offered a promotion of Team Leader but had to decline as was leaving the country.

I worked here for two weeks and left. I mean i'm not a person to easily give up but this place is a joke.
Sitting on the phones for 8 hours per day, trying to get existing supporters to up their donations is a nightmare. Do you want people calling you all day for money? No? Neither do they. Most people are quite rude on the phone and refuse no matter what you say. Worst part is this job is PERFORMANCE based.
So if you don't reach your ( very hard and unrealistic ) target, they fire you. A total of 8 trainees started with me, all of them left on week one.
DON'T work here unless you're a backpacker in need of extra cash or some rich kid who wants to waste a bit of time.

I was a regional specialist for Make a Wish Foundation, I would work on various street and shopping center locations, I would stop and convince people walking by to donate to Make A Wish Foundation on an ongoing basis. I learned a great deal of sales skills and objection handling, both my management and co-workers provided a great environment for success and extremely high levels of motivation. The work was challenging at first to get the hang of it, and keeping energy high was the hardest but with practice it was not bad at all. I loved being able to talk to people all day every day for work and it was a great cause to work for, it was overall a great job.

Do you want a stressful and toxic environment? Do you want to get worried about getting fired every day and top of that have a rude team leader yelling and swearing at you on the phone? Then this is the job for you! 
And no, don’t even think of complaining because they will sweep it under the rug and push you out of the door. 
Completely disgusting company, by far the worst I have ever worked for.

Working for 2evolve was like being back at school. 
The work itself was okay, and the people were all wonderful and kind. 
My only issue with the company was their work hours are TERRIBLE. Working 12pm-8pm was extremely draining both physically and mentally. 
Nobody likes to be called by Call Centre operators, especially those asking for money. If you want to be abused on the phones, this job is for you! 
Management etc were all extremely supportive however.

Very fun environment with friendly colleagues and great incentives to   achieve targets. Support given when required, however, role was extremely target driven and stressful. Job never feels secure and the  turn around for the company was very quick, with new people being employed every week. This meant it was very difficult to improve and achieve goals when required.
