About the Role
As the Payroll Manager for CTM Australia and New Zealand, you will be accountable for ensuring our employees are paid timely and accurately. You will be responsible for the overall provision of our weekly payroll processing and payment including the current provision of critical payroll controls/checks and data entry activities for approximately 900 employees and growing.
This role will see you manage an end-to-end payroll function and use your expertise to troubleshoot, streamline and optimise the pay-run using ADP Payforce. The role is positioned within the Finance department in Brisbane reporting directly to the Chief People Officer within the ANZ People Team and manages the payroll team.
Responsibilities
- Manage all functions associated with the processing of pays for our Australian and New Zealand workforce on a fortnightly basis, on alternate weeks for Australia and New Zealand
- All end of month accounting processes: Payroll journals; Accruals; Annual leave; Long service leave and balance sheet reconciliations/payroll clearing accounts
- Perform and be responsible for the completion of all payroll related on-costs responsibilities Payroll Tax; Superannuation; Workers Compensation application; preparation of annual reviews, reconciliations, and lodgements including STP to ATO
- Update the payroll system with new legislation changes and business requirements
- Deliver budget variance reports and analysis by cost centre distributed at lease monthly to each cost centre manager on payroll costs.
- Maintaining professional and technical knowledge of existing legislation and keeping up to date with new legislation to comply with federal, state, legal requirements; ATO legislation; Fair Work Act; Payroll Tax by state and relevant industry awards; enforcing adherence to requirements; and advising management on needed actions
Skills & Experience
- Minimum 4 years’ experience in similar role (900+ employees) Australian and New Zealand workforce
- Demonstrated experience using ADP Payforce, or similar software
- Demonstrated experience using ADP Realtime will be an advantage
- Sound Knowledge of Payroll Tax and Workcover legislation in all Australian states and territories.
- Good leadership skills and the ability to drive change and results in a positive manner
- Experience in implementing new payroll systems in conjunction with an automated HRIS and updating current processes and procedures.
