About the Opportunity

Custom Fluid Power is seeking a highly capable Financial Controller to join our team based in Carrington, NSW, reporting directly to the CFO.

This is a pivotal leadership role responsible for strengthening financial control, reporting integrity, balance sheet governance and operational finance discipline across our national branch and manufacturing network.

Working closely with Operations, FP&A, Finance Systems and the broader Questas Group Finance team, you will position Finance as a disciplined, high-performing foundation that enables continued growth and operational excellence.

Your Tasks

Own and deliver a disciplined month-end close process with strong reporting integrity
Strengthen full balance sheet governance across high-risk and operational accounts
Lead Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll and Financial Accounting functions
Improve inventory valuation, WIP accounting, labour capture and manufacturing costing accuracy
Embed standard costing frameworks and margin governance discipline
Develop and implement SOPs and standardised finance workflows nationally
Strengthen internal controls, Delegations of Authority compliance and audit readiness
Drive working capital improvement and cashflow discipline
Partner with Operations to enhance project and job costing integrity
Support ERP stabilisation and system-enabled process improvements (NetSuite)

About You

CA or CPA qualified (Essential)
Finance leadership experience within industrial, manufacturing, services or project-based environments
Deep expertise in financial control, balance sheet governance and operational accounting
Strong experience leading AP, AR and Payroll teams
Demonstrated success embedding SOPs, internal controls and scalable finance discipline
Strong audit, compliance and statutory reporting experience
ERP experience essential (NetSuite highly regarded)
Experience operating within a multi-entity group environment
Structured, disciplined and execution-focused leader
