As a Qualified Cabinet Maker with Gull Design, you will be working in a team of 30+ dedicated staff, ranging from Apprentices, Installers, Machine Operators, Drafters, Detailers, Solid Surface Fabricators, Interior Designers, Admin & Accounts team and of course Cabinet Makers.
The Cabinet Making position currently available is based in our Factory. The main role of this position is in the assembly of our custom cabinets, after they have been cut and pre-drilled by our CNC machine.
Key duties & responsibilities:
· Examining drawings, work orders and sample parts to determine specifications, dimensions, finishes and installation requirements
· Selecting and working with materials such as timber, veneers, particle board, laminates and other engineered wood products
· Working from drawings and specifications to manufacture custom cabinetry and bespoke joinery for residential interiors
· Assembling parts to form sections of cabinetry/joinery and completed articles, ensuring accuracy and quality finish
· Installing cabinetry/joinery on-site (e.g., wardrobes, vanities, storage, feature joinery), ensuring plumb/level alignment and client-ready finish
· Identifying and rectifying defects, and undertaking repairs/refurbishment work where required
· Maintaining a clean and safe workspace and using tools and machinery in line with WHS requirements
Skills & experience:
· Minimum Cert III in Cabinet
· Minimum 1 year relevant cabinetmaking experience (residential bespoke joinery preferred)
· Ability to interpret detailed joinery drawings and produce accurate, high-quality work
· Experience with workshop machinery and hand tools; CNC/CAD experience is highly regarded
· Strong attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and a quality-first mindset
· Current Australian driver licence and ability to attend site installations
